Been waiting for a sale on this one for a couple months, pretty disappointing that its only $39 off but still something.
Usually goes for $299

I'm using the HD6XX headphones with a budget gaming DAC (Fosi Audio K5 Pro Gaming DAC). Not sure if I'll be able to hear a difference since I'm not the best at picking up those nuances, but I figured these headphones deserve to be paired with a better DAC. $200 is a pretty good deal but i didn't see any deals anywhere near that good and I'm a bit tired of waiting so i just got it.
Everything is super expensive in 2025 even after deals. We live in a different world vs even just 3 years ago. Walking in the isles of Woolies and Bunnings makes me feel like I wont have a retirement lol. $260 is a very good deal for local distributor and warranty. Just some advice, update the FW after receiving it. Then disable blue tooth in settings (less power draw and less heat) if you don't use blue teeth and also setup the display to go blank (again for less power draw and thus less heat). In summer it does get a bit hot (nothing too crazy), you can grab a small 10 cm x 10cm passive heatsink block and paste it on top using thermal pads and it helps with cooling a lot. As for sound quality, Chinese Audiophile gear is all about numbers so expect super clean…almost 'clinical perfect sound' which some audiophiles say is too 'clean'. Yea I know, audiophile rabbit hole. Once you fall into the audio gear rabbit hole, make sure to only go as deep as 30 cm, any deeper and you can go broke chasing stats and numbers but have no real tangible sound experience improvement. This is pretty much as high as 99% of the people should spend on a headphone amp and dac and reach end game for at least the next 10 years.
No retirement is a good plan 😂
Great price for local stock/warranty. I was literally in their store a few weeks ago about to grab one for full normal price. Think this is a sign to buy it.
Sadly they don't have a store in Brisbane so I'll have to wait for it to get delivered :(
i went with fiio K7 for the 4.4 balance output. i was on the same ship trying to find a decent budget amp for my arya.
I'm no audiophile but from looking online isn't balanced output mainly for longer cable runs or areas with a lot of electrical noise?
Yes, balanced will "shield" you from any interferences. I found it useful out of the DAC into my headphone amp (instead of RCA) to avoid noise created down the chain (e.g. bad PC power supply), but haven't needed balanced out of the amp. With this unit being an all in one I'm not sure if it will be needed.
I have had this for 3 years and its very good. Headphones. Sennheiser HD595, HD 599, HifiMan Edition XS, Philips X2HR. All 4 headphones gets super loud. I paid $200 from Aliexpress in 2021 with some specials and coupon codes.
