    I bought a B grade laptop.

Screen has over a dozen keyboard indents, and multiple white spots. CMOS battery is dead.

Laptop came so dirty you would think someone was eating 3 meals a day over it.

They won't take the laptop back and say this is expected for B grade.

    • was probably a WFH laptop

      • -2

White spots? Maybe more like a laptop for watching naught videos on!

      • +6

Strangely, the filthiest laptops at work are the ones used by the higher-ups.

    • +4

Thanks for the feedback. I was considering one but your comment made me change my mind.

      • The Intel UHD 620 graphics is pretty limiting.

Can't believe this is sold out.

      • +15

Dead CMOS battery is a functional issue. And, multiple white spots / screen damage is not "sign of white spot on screen".

I'll be filing to VCAT shortly bud.

          LOST ANOTHER SALE
take laptop back if i was sold it i would expect to be able to return if damaged beyond my expectations not yours

@Skymstr: Public forums are not really the place for such, I was considering this deal, but will be sure to stay away. Thanks

            • +5

@Skymstr: Wow, that looks really bad to me. Certainly not what I'd expect of B grade. Even C grade is described as "May have minor dents and sign of white spot on screen". That photo shows MAJOR signs of white spots on the screen, so to me it's much worse than C grade. If you posted that photo as indicative of a B grade laptop I don't think that you'd sell any. Give the buyer a refund FFS!

            • +4

@Skymstr: Well Im surprise by the screen damage. I'm looking for something for my daughter but reading these comments its a hard pass. The seller should exchange or refund.

              • -6

@Johnnyrunabout: Hi, as mentioned, for any damage in transit, we will offer replacement or refund. We asked for pictures to the buyer indicating the damage but he sent us pictures of pre-existing scratches with no clear area of damage.

Now, with no clear proof of the issue, why should we replace or offer refund?

This was the picture sent by buyer:

@Skymstr: This is not a B grade by any means.
You should apologise to the buyer and refund his money.
Ala’a I you are ignoring the dead cmos battery issue as well.

            • +1

@Skymstr: that is damage on a laptop screen ……
screen is a major thing on a laptop as you have to look at it when using
              return his money
one or two spots in a corner maybe but all over screen
not sure why you would share that picture but maybe add it to whom you try to flog that off too next

        • +11

I'm with you here. Despite this post as being mediocre at best, the issues you have listed and the seller's response give me no confidence in working with them. Thanks for the heads up and I wish you luck on a resolution.

      • +17

        Pretty poor response.

If this is how you react publicly, I'd hate to think how you would reply privately.

Not a bargain. Expensive for an 8th gen.

      • +4

not the right way to respond with a complaining client.

a simple refund and proper apology would have garnered you more clients.

maybe take some more lessons on sales. 😊

  • Hi @Skymstr, how much extra for 512 GB SSD for the first one?
Toshiba Tecra X40-E -Intel Core i7-8550u, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, FHD Touchscreen, Win11

    • -1

Hi, it will be $50 extra. Thanks.

  • +12

Quite expensive for an 8th gen.

    • +3

Yeah tend to agree. Bought an 8th gen Dell (admittedly i5, not i7) for about 260 a couple of years ago at least; not a touchscreen but also was in very good condition. Just hard to see this as a bargain really.

      • +3

Performance between the two are negligible.

    • Technically more like 7.5th gen. This is a Kaby Lake proc which was a stopgap released before 8th gen coffee lake which ends in xx65.

  • +9

Even their 'A' grade laptop have crap conditions…..

    https://www.corporatepc.com.au/product-condition

"dent, discoloration etc, screen white blemishes"

Personally, I wouldn't expect white spots/blemishes or dents on something listed as A grade….

    • Hi, thanks for pointing that out. Fixed it.

  • +2

I want to buy but the condition reports sound scary, and the guy who allegedly got white spots on his screen is a worry. Wonder if he used a black light or his tongue to find the white spots

    • +2

Please report back with photos - would be keen to see what they are selling as "A" grade

      • +1

I decided not to buy, im not a fan of man juice on my tech purchases

  • +4
    1. 8thgen cpu laptop isnt worth the money.
    2. the actual condition doesnt match the description
    3. their replies are either late or impolite.
    • Thanks, i decided not to buy

  • +2

    🤣🤣🤣

Where are all the shills from previous deals extolling the virtues of their multiple purchases.

    8th Gen e-waste no deal.
Seller seems problematic to deal with….

    • +2

Agree seller a tad defensive when pointed out the product doesn't match sale description.

  • +2

Easy nope with a quick read of the comments lmao

  • +1

Seller doesn’t state battery health on any of the grades.
Best to avoid as it’s not a good deal and is not packed by a good seller.

    • -1

Please check the listings of both the laptops which already states the battery health.

  • -1

Hi all, Prasun (who said he was the owner of corporate PC) contacted me today and said they would arrange return for the laptop and apologised for their communication. Will update post when I receive refund.

  • Terrible value versus refurbed 11th gens on Ebay.
