Classic Samsung.
what Samsung apps?
7plus, YouTube etc etc.
TV is likely the issue. Get a chromecast or Google TV streamer and install the native apps. I have B version also and get full surround.
@poxy001: Nope. As they go to 5.1 when eArc is off. Mine is a Samsung Mini-LED from 2023.
I have an Apple TV and use that.
Have the C version. I'm happy with the sound, though it does have some frustrating quirks:
ok
Have the same, using the matter hub function seems to also randomly disconnect the thing… More so than not using it.
Great price, new model in April though
Hence the great price
The 2024 (D) only had a minor improvement in the specs from the 2023 (C) model. Unless this year's comes out with Dolby vision pass-through -which I highly doubt, as Samsung doesn't have DV on their TVs - I can't see too much improvement with this year's version (E).
I have this model and I think it is great with movies, especially with Atmos, but music sounds quite tinny to me. I bought it for about $20 more last year and this represents excellent value for money. But hey, that's my 2 cents.
with this year's version (E)
They actually skipped straight to F for the 2025 models of their TVs and soundbars, for some reason. The only real difference in these new models is a way more compact subwoofer, which is a welcome improvement, but certainly won't be worth the price difference
There are some recent issues with bricked Samsung soundbars - https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Home-Theater/bd-p/get-he…
I don't have one. I just noticed this issue doing the rounds so thought I'd share.
I have had the Q930D version for about 6 months and can confirm auto updates to firmware caused "issues" with the soundbar. Currently in for Warranty repairs to resolve this problem.
Great sound when working however, suggest you DISABLE auto-updates (if possible) to firmware via Samsung SmartThings App. Repair agent noted he just fixed another unit with same issue and that the SmartThings app is quite buggy.
I have the D also. I might turn off auto updates then. Otherwsie amazing bar
My 990d is currently bricked
@teacherer: I hope Samsung will come to the party here and help you out as this is clearly their fault if it is a result of their software and firmware update.
I have this version and love it. It's as good as a soundbar gets imo. This is a good price.
Hit or miss, in my opinion.
It often loses connection with wifi and smart things app (even being next to the router).
Another problem is the CEC with my LG tv. It frequently does not turn on automatically with the TV.
On the other hand:
Sound is excellent.
Rear speakers have low volume and you need to tweak the balance to get it right
At this price, it’s fair
Tried to price match JB and it went on backorder.
I bought a Q900A some years ago with no rear channels for around $1500.
Would anyone be able to comment on if these newer versions are worth the upgrade?
I have Q900T and found that voice clarity on 930D is miles better but base and overall sound stage is inferior to my Q900T.
Great system, have been very happy with it.
Everyones room will be different, but i found the best settings to be space-fit turned on and audio setting as surround sound. Adaptive sound gives clearer dialogue , but messes with the rear effects they either too much or two little.
I use apple tv’s dialogue enhance setting instead of the soundbar one, the soundbar one does a decent job, i just think the ATV one is better.
Any recommendations for stands for the rears?
its changed to $799 now? or did I do something wrong.
Managed to get 722 price matched at JB with click and collect
That seems like a damn good deal, got my Q900T for $630 as it was a slightly scuffed floor demo unit. Would love to add the rear pair
My 990d is bricked as of 3 days ago. 23 pages of people with the same problem in the Samsung forum
Please share the link to that thread 🙏
is anyone able to DM a receipt with the 722 price (price protection purposes). thanks
Price matched on good guys 17/3 even though showing out of stock on OP site. Thanks OP
They raised the price to $799 :(
Even at $799 this is a fantastic price. The Q800 is usually around this price, but if you want any sort of surround sound expectations then rear speakers are mandatory
Where is the cheapest place to buy this right now?
Amazing price. Have the B version. Only issue is not getting digital surround when on eArc using Samsung built in apps. Have to turn off eArc.
