This offer is available at nearly 900 participating Shell service stations across Australia, including all Shell Reddy Express and Shell Coles Express service stations, but excluding all Shell OTR service stations.1

    Rip off at Shell with their 40cents higher than others fuel prices. 10cents could be satisfying but a rip off of 30cents. Shell runs their own premium prices for some reason.

      Back in metro I definitely agree, you'd need 50 cents off to break even with most independents. Where I'm at though, they're only two cents more than United (cheapest in town), so I'll snag a cheap(er) fill up. Cheers OP!

      There is a Shell Express near us that is nearly always cheaper than all the other servos nearby, even without the discount.

      Not the case near me, it's more like a 10 cent premium. Which means that even with the standard 4 cents off from a grocery shop, it's still dearer then the competition. I've found the 7-11 app fuel lock generally offers the best deals in my local area.

    What am I or the clerk doing wrong if I keep scanning the 4c AFL and flybys 4c offer at the checkout but only ever getting 1 discount not both? Do I need to activate the flybuys offer like an hour ahead or something?

      Just to share @knobbs that I always scan my FB card first followed by AFL app. In case you didn't realise, the above 4¢+4¢ off were actually combined as ONE fuel offer transaction on my receipt (but the discount amount was correct) as opposed to two. Maybe u could have a look at your receipt again for actual discount given.

      On a separate note, maybe activate the FB offer at least a day earlier perhaps?

        I always did the AFL then flybuys as the code is a 1x, I activate it in line and scan it first. Will try the other way around.
        My discount is still only 1x 4c value worth, but will keep an eye on it for when I get it correct.

      Always works for me, make sure they're actually letting both scan, it can beep without scanning if they're not on the right screen

          Then you can see it pop up on the screen facing you

    It's a shame the nearest Shell (non-OTR) is over 50 Km away from me in Adelaide. Handy if you're driving down South though. A +1 from me, even though I don't benefit. Would have come in useful with the recent 6% cashback from the Shopback gift cards I bought.

        To be fair to omblygombly, almost all Shell in Adelaide are Shell OTR which are excluded.
        Having now looked it up on the Fuel Finder, there are only 4 participating servos in metro Adelaide, all north of the CBD, so their statement could be accurate if they lived in far southern Adelaide (ie Seaford)

          Thanks. Yes, I am South, but not that South, though. I looked at the RAA app and didn't see any Shell-specific locations; they all looked like OTRs, which at least accept the electronic GC as long as you add it to your wallet first. I just added petrol spy to my phone. Cheers. Just noticed petrol going up now to $2.05 a litre. Top up soon.

    The attractiveness of the Shell fuel offer is clearly dependant on the location of the fuel station which ultimately dictate market prices.

    If anything, Shell fuel prices here in Melbourne western suburbs is comparable (if not slightly cheaper when combining AFL 4¢ + Coles 4¢) with other servos. Not to mention the 6% cashback Shell gift card which u previously could get from Shopback that sweetens the deal further.

    But for me personally the icing on the cake over past 2mths which made Shell the go was the Flybuys personalised offer I received eg. 20x Flybuys points for every litre fueled.

    So basically I stacked FOUR different offers for that one single fuel transaction. Given that Shell gets a 5 ⭐ rating as far as I'm concerned

    Steer clear of these Shell offers. I got a similar one through NRMA, fuel station was marked as "participating", but the promo did not go through when scanned the code at the register. List of participating Shell stations is incorrect.

        Do you know what happens if you go over 150L? My tank is 156 and I'm always terrified I don't stop in time to stay under 150L in case I get no discount at all. But common sense would suggest you get the discount on the 150L but anything above that is charged regular price….. (But I've not been game enough to test that!)

      • a Special Discount Offer consisting of a 10 cent per litre fuel discount ("10cpl Offer") will apply for the following periods:
      • from 16 March 2023 at 10:00 AM AEDT to 31 March 2023 at 11:59PM AEDT; and
      • from 12 April 2023 at 10:00AM AEST to 17 April 2023 at 11:59PM AEST.
