Record for the longest name? Holy moly!

They missed Pro on the end !

These are the biggest POS. I've broken a few of these, they are so flimsy.

For $28.80 the Trojan one is work the extra $9.80.

Easy to snap the fibreglass handle. Trojan have lifetime warranty, so for $10 more, you're covered for life.

      • both products are rubbish by the reviews - lucky the trojan has a lifetime warranty

        love this review;

Keep the receipt, gone through 2 handles in 6 months

I’m a plumber and have already snapped two handles in less than 6months, lucky they have a life time warranty wonder how many I’ll go through in the next 30years

My wide mouth wood handle shovel has lasted > 2 decades.

      • this is from one of the Bunnings reviews:
        https://photos-eu.bazaarvoice.com/photo/2/cGhvdG86YnVubmluZ3…

    • Saxon branded stuff is hot garbage, at least trojan has the warranty to back it up, its definitely worth the extra 10 bucks for that.

  • Any matching deals on duct tape, rope and tarps. Asking for @Sye.

You wont fit them in a post hole

      • +1

totally unrelated but any deals on chainsaw ?

      Reviews are shocking

    • Your ozb deal link goes to hedge trimmers rather than looper- agree with @Paul1e reviews terrible! https://www.bunnings.com.au/trojan-geared-telescopic-bypass-…

    • Looks like the blade isn't that good.

    • The reviews kill me

Anyone actually considering this - please don't and buy Fiskars instead

      • Exactly what I came here to post, the reviews are terrible, just spend the extra for Fiskars, under proper use Fiskars will outlast this 5x or 10x over. Just take basic care when using, of course they still won't survive outright abuse.

I've used the Aldi version as well which is also better than this one, if you're on a budget.

    • Have a set of the hedge trimmers, they are okay for really really basic hedging, nothing thicker than maybe 5mm. Anything bigger than that and it feels like the blades are made of cheese, the branches somehow start to win the war, on top of that the blades can bend if they don't successfully cut and get a branch jammed between the blades, after that they are completely useless as hedge trimmers because everything just sits in the gap.

Definitely look elsewhere, Fiskars if you must buy from bunnings, their stuff is reasonably priced and hasn't faltered for me yet.

Get ratcheting loppers from Aldi. I got a pair years ago and they're fantastic. Super easy to do massive pruning and completely breaking down masses of branches

    • Don't buy these - absolute cheap POS.

  • Roger Rogerson has entered the chat

  • so duct tape , shovels, tarp,rope,chainsaw….. thinking …. who did you wrong…hahahahaha….maybe a baseball bat as well …?

    • Haven't seen a hammer deal in a while

Wow I remember picking up one of these (or close enough) for a $2 clearance impulse buy many years ago. Guess they really really wanted to get rid of them back then.

Have to store it blade/digging end down cos otherwise water pools in the joint groove facing up…

I always saw Trojan as one step up from Craftright. What makes this shovel better?

    • +1

      Life time warranty

    • If its unchanged from ~5years ago (when I bought)…

Durable (only slight rust on checkerplate style collar on mine, stored in outside shed which gets damp)
      Lightweight handle
      Long handle for leverage
Blade is thick (haven't deformed it yet).

Check the quality in store first if you want, before buying, although returns are easy as well if not happy with it.

Overall I'm happy with it, think I paid $15 on clearance or something.

  • Ah the Neo Armstrong Cyclone Jet Armstrong Cannon

  • who's playing Lethal Company here?

"stand back while I charge my shovel" lol

  • Trojan PowerStep Long Handle Square Shovel

    As used by Agamemnon

I'm not sure about everyone else but I'm really digging this deal!

  • Lots of broken handles in the reviews

  • I've been slowly replacing my old and cheap shovels with these powerstep ones when on sale, they're not too bad at all, just give it a little sharpen with the dremel before use. I don't rate the loppers at all though, I remember picking these up in store and being very hesitant to buy them cause of the build quality - went with the trojan non-telescopic and it's not great either
