For anyone having issues on their iPhone this is what I did to get this to work.
When it asks you to subscribe, click on the “Have a promo code” speech bubble at the top right and enter the code to redeem.
It just stayed on the subscribe screen for me even after claiming the deal, making me think that it didn’t work. I had to click on the “Restore Purchase” at the bottom left of the subscription screen to progress past the subscription screen.
Free is free. Thanks op
