Philips/Samsung won't be going out of business any time soon, so if you plan on having one for a long time, then any extra cost might be worth it. It might be justified by a bigger size and no worries about replacement filters for the foreseeable future, but I'm kinda kicking freestyle here.
Feel free to enlighten us, if you get around to doing the research. And I'll do the same.
I'm stuck with some Amway gizmo with really rare and expensive filters. Probably not 'true HEPA' or HEPA at all. Just some activated carbon stuff that's been sitting in the same machine for at least 15 years. It's on now, next to my bed, churning away 24/7.
You can get some name brand ones that are in the shape of tables, etc. I'd defs look for a dual-purpose one when I'm ready to shop.
Is it any good, or will getting a Philips/Samsung one be better?
