that one of those little table things with the fan under it?
yeah
i strongly suspect my gaming laptop developed areas with faulty keys due to insufficient venting/air flow - even though i had set it to max fan speed (Sounds like a freaking jet anytime it is on).
It's not usually heat that causes keys to stop working. Faulty keys happen due to mechanical failure of the keys itself, or maybe some food crumbs or dust has gotten into the keyboard switches and that's gunking up the switches
@scrimshaw: i cant rule that out dust 100% - so thats fair - but from day 1 (other than initial initialisation) mine was just sitting to the side of the monitor controlled with wireless kb and mouse. Im not too salty about it - as it still functions fine other than the stuffed on board keyboard. I dont game on it anymore though - just use it to vpn into my remote computers.
ya i wanted to delete that post since im gunna get a gaming laptop now for nephew, tho couldnt work out how to do it, so made new post, apologies for the confusion
NB: Gaming laptops are very prone to overheating and will cause games to lag
Look for anything that has an RTX 4050 or RTX 4060 in that price range. Acer Nitro series, etc.
I'd opt for anything with an RTX 4050 or 4060 in your price range-my gaming laptop that I bought has an RTX 4060 (mine's a Legion 5, so above your price obviousy).
whatever you get id strongly recommend a laptop cooler pad or at least a little raiser
