    Too expensive based on $/wh

bit late for my qld/nsw homies.

im personally thinking of going a genny instead. id also be stressed out about battery degradation when not using it for long periods - like do you just leave these on charge all the time (assuming there is pass through?)

You can use it as a UPS so yep it's designed to be plugged in all time AFAIK. We just went through 53+ hrs of having no internet or power with Alf roaring through town. Was looking at something for camping duty and running the car fridge anyway. Yes there's cheaper options but this seemed like a nice unit that does everything I need. 5Yr warranty seems good as well. My first battery powered station - fingers crossed.

im going to wait it out till things dry out a bit and look again at the options - was absolutely bombarded with targeted ads everywhere for these devices. Had to laugh every time looking at the ads which was something to the effect of ' stay powered during the storm/ black out! ' - like bro, no shop stocks your product anyway - and i strongly suspect they (ecoflow and other '.au' brands) all ship out of 3PL warehouses anyway, so theres going to be a well and truly decent delay in getting it delivered.

As an alternative the similar ALLPOWERS R1500 Portable Power Station is 1800W and has a 1152Wh LiFeP04 Battery for only $999
    https://allpowers.com.au/products/allpowers-r1500-portable-h…

These are often available new on Ebay for WAY under that price. For example there is one for $919 with a 15% off code, bringing it down under $800.

We are using the smaller R600 units as UPS for PC based retail cash registers and they have worked perfectly for the recent cyclone. Instant failover to battery and they are running a computer, screen, printer, scanner, and eftpos unit for about 4 hours.

    • dang, that seems very cheap in comparison…

i think in next weather event/ black out id really just be caring about running the fridge/freezer anyway.
like yes, can claim food spoilage via insurance but still a pain.

    • Yes, these offer same 5 year warranty as Ecoflow. Also, I think we will see further price drops in future as US tariffs cause less demand in US.

    • I want that, and a petrol generator to charge it up when there's a cloudy sky :)

  • was looking for this during storm in QLD , anyone tell difference between this and delta 3 (128Ah@12V ) which is more capacity than this and also delta Max ( DM(2000): 170Ah@12V), prefer the user experience

With so many driving EV's (huge batteries!) it seems crazy so few options to get the power out during disasters/blackouts. We have a cheap Nissan Leaf import, I got a 1000W inverter and was able to run the fridge during Alfred blackouts. However, I had to dig a lot to finally get to this solution. It would be good if there was some kind of compliance requirement in Australia for importing manufacturers to consider this and where possible include a guide in Aussie car manuals for compatible EVs!

    • I thought most EVs had built in inverters but I could be thinking of all the US ones.

  • Hi Can anyone please suggest me any online ups for sda house that can run one gpo for at least 2 hours.

    • Need to know current draw. How many watts does the device draw? 20w or 2400w?

  • If your draw is not high (like a small fridge, modem etc), maybe river 3 plus with a cheap 100ah lifepo4 battery to extend its capacity would do.
I am waiting for river 3 plus to drop to river 2 price mark of arond $200. Until thenk just using Kings 200ah with a 1000w inverter
