Honestly I think it's just the power supply so I might pop down to Jaycar tomorrow and see what they have. But it is an older unit so are there any compelling reasons to replace it just for home use?
TIA

It looks like a totally generic unmanaged switch. These things are all interchangeable.
If you can get an inexpensive power brick that fits, then no reason not to reuse it.
Lots of people are selling power supplies for that switch.
But they all seem to be very coy about what voltage and power rating their product is. They show images with the output ratings blanked out.
And some people who tried to get a matching one are complaining that it uses a strange connector. So if you go to Jaycar, take the old one, get them to test its not working, if it isn't get them to try to match it, and make sure you can return it if it doesn't work.
Does it say on the switch what voltage and current it requires?
12v 1.08 amps, the connector has a center pin.
Cheers
12v 1.08 amps
That's easy.
the connector has a center pin
That's harder to get a working match for.
Get a generic 12V wall wart, transplant the cable from the old adaptor.
claim the warranty, it is lifetime for hp switches
This is Ozbargain at its best. People helping each other.
Ooh nice, didn't think of that.
Unless you want faster than gigabit or the power supply is ridiculously expensive for some reason, I can't see a reason to replace it.
It's not that old and unmanaged switches haven't changed a whole lot, make packets go zoom, that's what they do.
