    sim is only for internet access. not so much a phone replacement but just makes it easier for some people to play media without having to plug in phone etc

      I am just trying to understand the usecase, mainly Android Auto makes life easier, with calls messages and voice replies etc.

      this is a strong media mox but then how do you do the rest of 'phone'?

        You are overthinking it. It's basically just another skin that is more vanilla than android auto and allows apps like Netflix etc to run. You just connect your phone via Bluetooth.

    Ok, watched the video and it looks like the HDMI output is for screens other than the one on the cardash/console for AA/Carplay.

    Anyone have experience with the device overall? Car currently only has wired AA/Carplay and looking to make it wireless + be able to watch Youtube while in the car waiting for whatever reason.

      There are far cheaper alternatives to turn your wired AA into a wireless one with YT playback capabilities.

      You can already use several methods to get YT and a Web browser running on your current device.

    its basically a dongle. once you plug it into a car with carplay/AA it will run off that dongle. you will see that app on the homescreen of its android system. no experience with this device however…

    I don't think people are staring at the screen as the content is playing.

    A fair amount of YT content can be absorbed entirely without visuals.

    Also, in the example they used in the video, it was outputting the movie into two displays that were located in the back seat.
