Cool story, bro
Gen 5 is as good but tooo heavy. Hb this? Less suction power than gen 5 though.
How's Dyson's reliability nowadays? Had a v10 that had a myriad of issues over 1.5 years. In the end, most of the parts had to replaced except the battery which eventually died as well.
Funny you should mention your v10, my wife was complaining to me yesterday after I got home from work that our V10 keeps cutting out on her and indicating a phantom clog. Mostly happens when using it on the max setting.
How old is her v10? Support was very helpful but not so much after warranty had ended.
Our v10 died ~ 5 years old - it was a motor issue. replaced the motor with a part from aliexpress for about $80-$90. Problem solved
It’s probably not the tube but the filter.
That's the trade off with Dyson, I had 2 and both died just over 2 years mark, but I can't argue that they are great vacuum cleaner, I had changed to dreamme and other brands but can't compare to Dyson in term of suctions power, they do last longer than Dyson but not as clean.
We've had our V10 since Dec 2018 - I've replaced filter, battery, and the trigger (which was a little annoying, but not too onerous) but it's still going strong aside from that. I don't think that's too bad for >6 years of service.
My V10 still going strong after 8 years, just had to replace the motorhead recently but with regular care and cleaning its all G
Have a
- V6 (7 years and still going strong)
- V15 (1 year - no issues so far)
Really wanted this dyson, but couldnt be bothered waiting for another sale and got the shark stratos pet pro instead, solid vacuum! Especially for $300 less.
Still heavily overpriced for what it is. Just get a Chinese knock-off from Amazon of the exact same model for $144 and you'll be surprised. Seems like this technology nowadays is not a rocket science.
Do you have the model number?
