Was eyeing off an tab s9 for around 500 or 600 on sale (next samsung secret sale is 12th march) but with trade in and bonus I can nab an s10 ultra for about $900.
Use case is for a laptop replacement where im not gaming or crunching bits, just word processing and media. Mediatek dimensity 9300 has me feeling a bit meh due to legacy branding… Im assured its quite lickity split.
Should I spend the extra and be happier?

Ipad air 3 released today. No doubt using a Samsung screen that's a few years old.
The difference in performance is minimal and like you said the s10 ultra uses Mediatek. I'd go with the s9 ultra. Is that a s9 ultra for 500 or just normal s9?
