  • Awesome spot, decent vinyl Deals have been thin on the ground lately. Looking forward to getting this .

I think the review I read about this compilation album stated there were 2 new tracks on it, and they were not very good (but will decide for myself when I get the chance).

The track 'Tipping Point' from their most recent new album was great in my opinion, and worthy of their older stuff.

I think the cover artwork for this album is great, and would consider purchasing it to put it up on the wall, though I could probably just purchase a poster instead.

It would feel weird purchasing an vinyl release after being so happy when CD's came along to replace them.

I saw a great looking turntable recently, and thought it would be worth purchasing just to put it on display, that is until I saw the $70k price tag.

With compilation albums, I think the track order on the compilation should be in the same order that they were originally released, meaning the old tracks should be at the beginning, and the new tracks should be at the end. Is that some OCD trait or do others agree with this?

In any case, it is nice knowing that Tears for Fears are still making music together.

I don't have a player, so I only buy vinyl for display - and that's the problem I have with this one, the AI-generated artwork. Fan of the band but struggle with the thought of displaying AI art in my house

    • I clicked into the deal to see whether it was AI art. Thanks for confirming.

    • How'd you know it was generated by AI?

Agree - though it's easy to make art with AI, I don't think it'll stick much, people don't see authenticity or value in it. I reject it (I'm a bit of a luddite), but having said that the cover is awesome though!

      • He asked to chat gpt and it confirmed it.

Someone please tell me the appeal of vinyls.

I mean, sound quality? - CDs are better.

nice big cover art. supporting the artist. having a physical representation of the music you love. it's more purposeful than streaming - I am more likely to listen to a full album this way. record player + records look nice in the living room.

    • Not necessarily. If you have good gear for both, each format can have strengths. It can be subjective. But IMO the CD has an upper hand with some music genres 'if' it is a DDD recording.

    • CDs are easy and don’t need constant flipping.

Old vinyls have a full of sound as they were not recorded digital. New vinyls have been recorded off digital recordings so technically sound the same as cds.

I like to own my favourites on Vinyl

I still use both. Vinyl for the older stuff and CD for 90s onwards. I wont turn down a compilation on CD (grabbed ABBA and Bee Gees recently for nix). Some I have on both 🤷

Doesn’t matter to me how much work they put into the music on this one, the generic AI cover makes me put the wallet away.

    • It's not like it used to be in the old days. Did you think that they would employ an actual talented artist to create the cover?. I guess gone are those days when they did that sort of thing. It's done by AI now.

Yeah, it makes me want to shout, shout, let it all out. These are the things I can do without.

      • You have the head over heels 😜

Well I had a look, and though I didn't buy the Tears For Fears album, I did end up buying Nirvana - Nevermind for $35! https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0000088DC
