Camera for Small Business Suggestions?

I run a small business and looking to buy a camera, for photos, reels and YouTube, (so, I can still use my phone while recording) with a budget of around $800.

I've been suggested a Sony zv-1F or DJI Osmo pocket 3. I haven't bought a standalone camera in over 10 years so have no idea what I'm looking at anymore. would love advice from people who actually use them. currently using my Samsung Fold 4 its ok but hard to keep in standard phone tripods and I often need it mid recording. I do like the idea of something small and light weight, so I don't have to worry about storing multiple lenses.

Dji pocket 3 is a good choice, especially after the recent firmware update which improved the 2x zoom video quality. The app is also great to use for transferring the files to your phones and adding colour filters. The main reason I got it was for the stabilised footage, much better than my iphone. Battery life is great too, and if you need to shoot more than 1.5 hrs of 4k, just bring a portable 65w power bank for fast charging it in minutes. Also grab a sandisk extreme pro card if your shooting 4k video. Watch a couple of beginners tuutorials on youtube to get the most out of it, it has so many features. Only downside I found was the included case, was annoying to use, so I found a cheap alternative off ebay which made it more pocketable while still protecting the camera.

    What's Fujifilm doing these days?

    • not a whole lot for $800…. if op wants it for video i can recommend xm5 but the basic kit is like $1599

  • The Sony is a solid suggestion. The DJI is a great option if you are going video first, but as you mention photos I would expect the Sony to be a better all round option. I think the sony is a fixed lens camera, so think about what type of work you are going to do… do you need the flexibility provided by an optical zoom lens?

  • At this price point it makes more sense to just buy another phone for your camera needs. This is because for $800 you won't have budget for multiple lenses which you get on a phone, and the image quality from modern smartphones are very competitive with standalone cameras.

Something like a used or refurbished Samsung Ultra phone is a good choice as they have decent cameras. Samsung hasn't changed much about the cameras since the S21 Ultra, so it's more economical to buy an older model.
