Where to Buy an Air Purifier?

I'm looking for an air purifier and i was just wondering where everyone would go to find one?

At first thought id just pick up a generic one from Kmart. JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, and all these other stores have fancier looking ones and brands but can get pretty expensive. I'm only looking to spend $100-$200 for one.

But then there are other options im unsure about such as Amazon, Kogan, or Temu since i have just never purchased anything from any of these sites or ones like them.

Just wondering what everyone's opinion is to get the best value product.
And all open to suggested air purifiers. The dust in my house is starting to affect my health.

To choose an air purifier, I used the info from RTINGS plus a couple of other sources to corroborate their info. They methodically test different devices then rate and compare them for you. I like their table comparison tool they have all the different metrics and scores so you can sort by whatever feature is important to you.
I selected a few units that met my needs and performance requirements and then searched for the best deal (https://www.buywisely.com.au and https://shopping.google.com.au are good places to start searching for a good price). I checked reviews for any red flags. A few weren't easily available in Australia without huge shipping fees from the US. For me, I got the best deal on Amazon during Black Friday stacked with a 10% off gift card. If you find a product on Amazon you like copy the url and paste it into https://www.camelcamelcamel.com to see the price history. Definitely try to stack with a discounted gift card. Whatever air purifier you do get, if it has an ionizer feature check that you can turn it off. Although the negatively charged ions can attract particles and help knock dust and allergens out of the air, it also generates ozone and I wouldn't want to go to sleep in a room with that function running.

    • FWIW this was a good buy for me. A good balance between performance and price, and it is available in Australia.

  • Allegedly this website is good.

  • Have a read of this site and also the links on product comparisons - the Uni Of

  • Got mine through OzB deals

In the bedrooms I have Arovec H13s. They drop to around $105 every so often. Quiet enough on level 1 but not silent. Work well.

Have a Hitachi model for the living space. Been amazing over summer, especially through Adelaide's 💩 asthma season this year. I recently bought a second one for my parents

Reviews on the Hitachi are excellent. Most are out of asia (to be expected) and focus on apartments and air pollution.
