TopCashback AU Rejected Cashback for No Reason

Long story short:

Bought few things through Woolworths Everyday Market last December when they have 30% cashback. Got tracked instantly. Happily waiting then boomed. Cashback got rejected.

Never return or exchanged anything. No reason given. Contact support, helpless, no human reply, all generic. Telling me they will chase Woolworths for me? But will take few months.

What is the point shopping to get cashback then they rejected and wait for the unsure outcome!! So frustrating.

    Wait so your ticket is still open they've just said they need to follow up with the company? Seems normal?

    • The cashback status gone from Pending to Rejected.

      Normally:Pending > Approved > Claimed (Cash Out)
      This time: Pending > Rejected

      i always say treat cashback as gambling. you win some, you loose more often

      • Quite the opposite I've experienced. As long as the T&C's are met, it's been a win.

      Or you could treat it as a contract which it is and then hold them to their side of it.

  • Unfortunately this is a risk with ALL cashback providers. All of them have issues with not tracking correctly from time to time.

    Not much you can do about it except don't buy things only because of the cashback.

    Hi. Please see my comment here. I've been diligently chasing Woolies for anyone that's reached out to me. For the record, please understand that TopCashback does not reject transactions as we have no control or visibility over how Woolworths validates them. Further, from reading comments on OzB, this issue has affected all partners and not just TCB. However I've been able to sort out most of the declines for those that have contacted me. A large majority of the declines were for code or gift card use.

    May I please ask how you contacted us? If it was through an existing claim, it may not help as the claim simply progresses through stages automatically. The best way with the fastest response is to open a ticket via the following link which gets you a response within 48 hours:

    If they don't honour their contract with you after going through their complaints resolution process, complain to AFCA.

  • Were you running a VPN at the time? I've had issues in the past where it hasn't tracked properly due to a VPN running.

    But all cashbacks are very hit and miss. As said above its more of a gamble than anything else- and most cases it bounces/rejects for some obscure term or condition on the product you are buying. I rarely use cashback these days because it's not worth the hassle. Remembering to turn off VPN, remembering to activate the link, not being able to bounce between windows while you're researching prices. Just a pain, unless it's a more expensive purchase (then I might jump through their hoops).

  • I have found TCB to be the best at the moment,

    Only have had one transaction not pending / not tracked, but sorted out in a few weeks by the Team

    Always read the rules.
