hm still slightly more than last year's deal and no extra 10% back in GC

I'd expect it to drop further as 2025 models come in.

    • This is $51 cheaper for the 85", $3 cheaper for the 75", and this time it includes free delivery. Sure, no HN gift card, but it expires after 1 month and is for HN…

      • whoops, I was only looking at the 98" which is what I'm after.

Quite comparable after taking delivery cost in.

But with the new models incoming, they should still be cheaper than this.

        • When are the TCL 2025 models being released?

    • The challenge is to estimate,
      1.Stock-level, &
2.How many buyers waiting for the price to drop-further ?

You'll be certain that they'll clear C755 model by Jun-25 ish…C765 is out. Good luck.

  • Does anyone know why when I go to the good guys website it just spam refreshes the login page instantly?

    • I have the exact same issue, I just keep refreshing and hitting escape "just the right time" so the login entry fields and the captcha are both visible.

Can take a few tries but works.

    • I get this issue on Chrome but Firefox seems to work ok

    • +1

Logout next time, their cookie handling is bad.

      • Oh wow that fixes it, thank you!

    • Mine too, must be the cache. Open TGG in a private browser tab is easiest solution.

      • +1

Check above, simply log out and next time you open it doesn't do it, so just manually login each time

    • Clear your browser cache and it will fix it instantly :)

    I have the 85" C755.

My god its such an upgrade from my 6 year old samsung.

Bright, fast OS, excellent contast..blacks really do look black at night.

Downside? Motion in sports is good, not great.

    • I wonder why this is

    • yikes I can't imagine sports being any worse than my 8 year old sammy =/

    • Damn, the only thing I want it for is sports. No issue on my 10 year old Panasonic.

  • +1

Have the 75 C755. Use a Shield so can't comment too much on the OS, however picture upgrade moving to mini led has been great.

  • Don't bother with Good Guys if in Sydney. I ordered one for pick up in Chatswood but the lady said they could only offer me the display model. There was another one in Albury but they wouldn't ship it over cause it was too big.

Im never buying TCL again. Although the TV specs are good for the price, if you ever have to claim warranty, good luck! They will just refuse to assist.

    • +2

Pretty sure Harvey Norman should offer the replacement/refund under consumer law. To avoid the pain of TCL support.

“Businesses must not tell consumers to go to the manufacturer for a remedy.”

I had the opposite experience, Bought from a retailer, had a warranty issue, spent 1-2 months following them up with the same replay "it's with TCL"

Meanwhile went straight to TCL's support, submitted the documentation and within a week had a technician on site, replaced the PCU and voila fixed.
Honestly going straight to the manufacturer was the best thing ever.

  • Bought a 98'' C755 from TGG for 3800 delivered and wall mounted around new year, to replace a 8 yo 65'' SONY 4k Andriord TV. Can't be better, took my TV experience to a whole new level, I spent every night in front my TV now, Netflix, Disney+, and I feel like playing all my favourite games on PS5 again, because I know the details and the graphics will change the whole gaming experience

    • What TV did you have previously?

      • 8 yo 65'' SONY 4k Android TV

    • you got that price in store?

    • Good one. Is that the best ever? Anyone aware of anytime it was lower than $3800?

    • +2

      Same.

      Loving the c755.

      I watch it for hours.

Sometimes i even turn it on

  • +5

    Holding out for a C855..

    • same

    • apparently no more 98" C855 stock.

    • Same… though they seem to have 0 stock of c855

      All I see is c755

    • What's the key improvements of the C855 over the C755?

  • +1

Man I've been refreshing Google daily looking for deals on a 75C855

    • +2

Same here but for the 85c855. Looks like we will be better off with the 2025 models once they arrive

      • Fingers crossed!

I had a quick google after reading your comment, and BuySmarte had a brand new 85inch 855 for $1330 delivered. My eyes nearly fell out of my head! Of course by time I started to convince the wife we could fit an 85 inch in our TV room it was gone. Now listed at $3500 and sold out. Probably a price error but guess I'll never know…

        • If you're okay with factory seconds Applicances Warehouse is selling the 85' for $2,188 if you're okay with that.

          • @StonedWizard: Good price, but if I couldn't get a new one for $1300 past the keeper then I've got no chance of a factory second for $2200.

        • I bought my 85C855 for $2,270 from VideoPro, I'm guessing it was a price error as the price went up to $3,270 within an hour.

Luckily the CSR honoured the initial price of $2,270

        • BuySmarte also sell Factory Seconds which is very likely what it was.

  • how does this compare with the SAMSUNG 65" QLED Q60D 4K Smart TV??

    • https://www.samsung.com/au/tvs/qled-tv/q60d-65-inch-qled-4k-smart-tv-qa65q60dawxxy/?cid=au_pd_ppc_prfmx_av_launch%7C(24q1-q4_pla_tv_none_pfm&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAlPu9BhAjEiwA5NDSAwvezwijBXZ9D9AuOgXbGeCZwTQgQhGC2Vin6-RVYQf6vXs1Yt7BhRoCxuoQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

    • Do not buy those tvs. if you want a tv get the du7700 or du6000. The ghosting on the q60d is disgusting. huge white blooms when the room is dark

    • It doesn't. Mini LED > Edge Lit.

  • Can these models display Netflix/Prime/Disney+ HDR content correctly? My current 8 year old Hisense makes the whole screen either too dark or too bright.

  • Hi guys. I really have no knowledge on this. What if there's no stud on the location u would like to mount the 98 inch TV. Will the hn/TGG installers be able to do anything? Is it part of their install scope?

    • Builds in Australia have standard stud width locations.

      • And if that's not good enough, just screw some wood battens to the studs, and the TV mount to the battens.

Might not look as good for those nosey parkers that look behind a TV, but no one else will ever know.

Any half decent installer should carry such battens in their kit.

  • Ahhhh just had a 98" 755 wall mounted this morning. Paid $4878 last Friday.

    • what wall mount did you go for?

      • +1

        https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/ezymount-heavy-duty-flat-tv-w…

Took the GG promo of included delivery and installation. Boys rocked up. Installed and buggered off in under 90 min.

Had to space out another 10mm as I didn't have a recessed powerpoint. But now I can get my hand in behind to plug in extra cables. Even though I drew through 4 HDMI cables network and coax it's a happy accident.

    • buy another and return on the original receipt?

    • Well, that's annoying.

      • It is. But it's on the wall now.

        • +1

you might be able to get a price drop credit

        • Did you buy it from TGG? Because they have dropped the price down to $3995. Call them right now and tell them you want the difference back and don't be shy or embarrassed about it. If they spin some bullshit about how you need to be a Concierge member, speak with a manager.

  • What's the RRP on these?

    • More than you can afford pal!

      • Cant a brother have a boner after seeing the discount? I mean seriously.

  • What's the better buy, this or a Hisense U7NAU? Purely gaming and some streaming.

    • I have both TV's, Hisense runs Vidaa o/s, I have bad experience with. The TCL C835 I have is Google, so much better compared to Hisense

      • I have a google tv chromecast so that doesn't bother me I'll just be using that but thank you for the info :)

        • I would also be using a Chromecast so don't care about Vidaa. Could you compare the screens @bitlined?

    • Local dimming isn't great on the U7NAU resulting in blooming and poor black uniformity: https://www.gadgetguy.com.au/hisense-u7nau-first-look-mini-l…

  • Not recommend this model, last about 8 months. TCL took it back and issued me a store credit. Bought LG 86QNED86TSA, much better.

    • What was your reasoning?

    • +4

You went from Mini LED to Edge Lit IPS. I can't see how that is better.

  • Worth the upgrade from 2023 C845 series?

    • no you crazy

      • Sounds like C845 is a better TV?

        • i own both. 85C755 and 85C845. you will notice zero difference unless they are side to side. I cant even tell walking into another room.
