BYO GPU Gaming PC: AMD 7800X3D, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 750W PSU, Wi-Fi 6E $1369 + Delivery ($0 MEL C&C + Bonus Headset) @ Evatech

X3D300

Scored a new GPU recently and your old rig is holding it back? Or hodling until 9070 XT but need a functioning PC in the meantime? Well maybe we have a winner for you. By popular demand we've gone X3D and BYO GPU on this one and still managed to beat PC Part Picker's DIY build price by > $100.

Why the 7800X3D and not the 9800X3D? Well A) Because we scored a deal on them for you! But more importantly B) At ~ 28% cheaper than a 9800X3D for only 4.1% lower performance it's really the best bang for buck high end CPU on the market right now and still handily stomps the Intel i9 14900K and Ultra 9 285K in gaming TPU Benchmarks(techpowerup.com) to be the second best gaming CPU money can buy.

Not interested in gaming and perhaps don't need a dedicated GPU? No problem the 7800X3D's built in iGPU is more than sufficient for basic every day office use, web browsing, video playback etc and can drive two displays via the HDMI and DisplayPort outputs on the motherboard.

Questions regarding Windows licenses & installation
- Yes, our licenses are 100% genuine OEM or retail licenses purchased directly from Microsoft authorized distributors. Physical copies of these products are provided with the PC including the license key cards and installation flash drive (for retail licenses) or COA stickers (for OEM licenses). Any system builder that doesn't provide these could be charging you full price for a grey market key of significantly less value and questionable origin. Always demand the physical copies!
- Yes, if you purchase Windows from us we will have it pre-installed, setup, updated and with all the required drivers pre-installed ready to go out of the box.
- No we cannot pre-install Windows for anyone who doesn't purchase a genuine license. We'd love to offer this as a service for those who already have a genuine license but selling a PC pre-loaded with Windows without a license purchase is strictly forbidden by Microsoft.
- Yes, if you have a genuine retail (not OEM or volume) license you can provide to us and that we can validate as genuine, we can activate it for you and provide the PC with Windows pre-installed. Contact us after placing your order with your order number and license details to arrange. OEM or volume keys cannot be accepted as they are non transferable to new systems.

With power supplies being one of the more likely components to fail in a system, we take a lot of care in selecting which we work with. Reliability the first and foremost factor in the process.

We also have tracked every RMA case in our companies almost 12 year history and our internal RMA records have Corsair's on par if not a tiny bit worse than several other major brands. They had a bad run of certain models and they are better today than they were 5+ years ago but then again so is every other major brand that use high quality components and get their units built at top tier OEMs. MSI is relatively new entrant to the PSU game so we don't have as many years of data to compare but they've been very solid thus far and they use the same OEM as many of Corsair's current models and from a raw component / platform perspective they are very solid.

We don't just look at the brand on the box, but we do a deep dive into who the OEM is and what components are used within before we ever deploy a new model into any of our systems. We use this approach with every single component, not just power supplies and immediately drop the use of a brand or model line if the RMA rates exceed our very high bar for what we deem acceptable. It's not something we do out of the goodness of our hearts, it's simply because happy customers refer more business and post-sale support and warranty (especially to the standards we provide all customers!) is a major operating expense!

      • really?? I have had many Corsair products they literally will replace it even when its just out of warranty I have had headphones PSU's ram there customer service is exceptional Even if a AIO will start of drip and destroy you entire computer they replace all components that got damaged plus the AIO had a friend had this happen to it was amazing how good the customer service was.. So not sure if you have been dealing with Corsair before? because it sounds like your just lying to me to justify you choice in PSU.

        • +7

Corsair's end user customer service is one of the best even if it is a low bar sadly in this industry.

We deal with Corsair regularly and carry a lot of their cases and AIOs. However as system integrator / retailers we don't deal with them directly. We deal their distributors. Who at least one of is the same distributor as MSI products. We also care less about how good their service is when something does go wrong and instead prioritize limiting the number of times something goes wrong in the first place.

For the record, we 100% agree that Corsair makes very good quality reliable products and offer very good customer service. All we're saying is the price premium they charge for their products over others made to virtually the same specifications in the same factory, isn't justifiable at our end when their failure rates are more or less equivalent (in our experience) and we largely don't benefit at all from the better end-user customer service.

    • +6

There are plenty of reputable PSU brand other than Corsair

      • Damn bro Corsair is one of the better brands

        • +3

Ofcourse it is, but OP saying they're the only reliable brand is just false.

          • +1

@ozb88: Oh ok yeah that's false lol

    • aren't corsair's better PSU's made by seasonic…. am I allowed to by seasonic?

One reason I built my own PC is because most offerings from PC builders use these enormous, tall PC cases that look really awkward in a bedroom or living room. I built mine with a much smaller and more aesthetic Lian Li Dan 3. With newer technology making smaller cases more feasible, I wonder when there will be a broad switch to smaller cases.

    • +1

Took a little while but we managed to squeeze in the Dan Case A3 series for anyone interested, they're options in the case category if you click 'more options'

Just a shoutout to Evatech as a business - they rock! Couldn't recommend them more for first timers or those in the PC game for a while

    • ❤️

  • any good gpu deals?

    • Working on it, but it's a tough market right now! Everything is in short supply, even last-gen mid and low end models.

We're optimistic that things will improve in the 4-6 weeks. Bigger shipments are on the way and hopefully will start flooding the retail channels soon.

We're also holding out hope that AMD's RX9070 and RX9070 XT are compelling price / performance wise and not plagued issues 🤞🤞 Nothing drives down pricing quicker than solid competition!

  • Excuse my lack of knowledge! I currently have an i5-11400F with an RTX3060ti. Would this provide a reasonable upgrade if I stuck the 3060ti in here (if that's even compatible). I was eyeing off the Nebula 7500F/ 7800XT deal with a few upgrades (getting towards $1800) but maybe this is enough.

Broad games but have particular interest in iracing and racing games in general which I understand to be CPU intensive. Appreciate anyone's guidance! Thanks

    • 7800XT will outpace a RTX3060 Ti pretty handily in anything GPU bottle-necked
7800X3D will easily outperform a 7500F by a similar margin in anything CPU bottle-necked

In game settings will effect the balance. Cranking up the eye candy and resolution will lean more on the GPU and lowering the graphics settings and playing at lower resolutions leans back towards the CPU.

Decent argument to be made either way.

$1800~ vs $1369 is ~ 30% difference, and if you did play at higher graphics settings or resolutions the 7800XT is probably going to offer in the realm of ~ 30% better performance.

On the flip side, with the lower cost 7800X3D option + keeping your 3060 Ti, you'll get much better performance non-gaming CPU focused workloads and have a lot more room to upgrade your GPU down the line before the CPU becomes a bottleneck.

      • Thanks for the reply and the honesty too!

Confirms why I am sitting on the fence between the two deals! lol…

  • Do you think a 3080 would be fine with the default PSU? Nvidia seem to list 750W as fine but unsure with 7800X3D

    • Should work fine!

The 7800X3D, despite its great performance, is quite power efficient, especially compared to many Intel options which no doubt Nvidia's power supply suggestion would have been made in mind with.

      • +1

Lovely, thanks for confirming. Is there any chance of a similar deal with the 9800X3D? I see it's there as an upgrade option, but a little pricer than I was hoping. I do get the logistics on what you can and can't offer, but worth asking :)

And you don't have any other cases do you? I'm split between this and Nebula's similar offering, better PSU and CPU cooler here, but the Lian Li DAN A3 is a lovely case on their end.

Potential of any discounts for no SSD included?

        • +1

The 9800X3D pricing is reflective of our best offer based on cost price, and is available as an option for those wanting the best rather than second best - as far as gaming is concerned, touched on in more detail in the OP.

I believe all the cases offered as options are discounted as they're all options that we're holding stock of right now (plus suitable in this offering). Any other option would be sans-discount and full price, meaning it's likely less attractive pricing wise than you'd willingly tolerate.

If you wish to know if we're able/willing, and the pricing of options not offered, we kindly ask that you email us through our contact form with any and all details and questions (such as not including an SSD) so that someone with decision making powers can get back to you.

          • @evatech: Cheers for the quick response! I'll send an email through :)

  • If I place an order now, will it be sent today/tomorrow, or in 5-7 business days? :)

    • +1

Probably neither, I'm guessing ~ 3-4 business days as of right now.

It's a constantly moving line though as orders come and go.

      • +1

Placed an order, finally time for a new system. Cheers mate.

  • Just sent you an email about this/varient

  • Great retailer to deal with from past purchase. If anything I'd have wished that the spare component parts (eg screws, manuals etc) were shipped together. Maybe something to request as part of order placement.

    • Most if not all included accessories are sent to customers. Physical manuals are almost never included any more, and we discard the far less useful European Union Regulatory Notice and other similar materials rather than bombarding our customers with trash.

If anyone has any questions be sure to ask prior to ordering, or simply leave a note during checkout as we're happy to comply with any and all reasonable requests!

      • Hmmmm somehow I didn't receive any other than the pre-built in my previous order but was not a problem as I had spares myself. Will ensure to request if I place future orders.

  • Hi.. I just DM/email you about this deal.. Thanks

    • Replied !

  • Is there a possibility of adding the Thermalright Assassin X120 Refined SE CPU in Black also? Keen to change the case to a black one instead of white.

    • +1

Sounds like a no-brainer! Give us 5 minutes and we'll make it happen.

      • Awesome, thanks for the quick response. With a few black cases available, I figured it may have been missed.

  • Or hodling until 9700 XT but need a functioning PC in the meantime?

I assume you meant the 9070 XT

    • typo! Sure did.

    • Yup - fixed in OP. Thanks!

  • PMed !

    • Replied, thanks.

  • Hey I've ordered one. I'm planning on putting a 9070xt in it, are you guys going to have stock and maybe i can just add it in to the build through you?

    • At this stage we don't have confirmation of attractive pricing of the 9070 XT cards, so you're probably going to be better off hunting for that elsewhere which also at least gives you some flexibility in exactly which model you get.

The main reason we've made a BYO GPU deal at this time is that we cannot secure a bulk order on any attractive GPU to extend the offer to OzBargainers, but we're loaded up on CPUs & motherboards, etc, and buyers have the ability to bring any old (or new) GPU to the system to make it whole!

      • That's fair, do you know what the current build queue looks like? I'm guessing it'll be next week for me.

        • Build times offered on the deal landing page at any given time: has been 5-7 business days the whole time so far, still that time moving forward.

Keep in mind Monday is a public holiday down here in VIC (not sure where you are as we had a bunch of fresh orders overnight from all over the country!) so that might put a small delay as it is business days that we're open, not simply calendar days or all weekdays.

Thanks for your order, and understanding!

  • So I just picked up a 9070xt, but it looks like it might not ship out till early May. How long is this deal running for?

    • Intentions are to keep it running as long as we have the stock, or the ability to re-buy stock at the same price. But, in past experiences, that doesn't last forever, and we might be forced to put an end to the offer once our current stock levels deplete.

We'll surely be back with another offer, but can never guarantee similar pricing/attractiveness, although equally possible that it could be more appealing… endless possibilities!

      • Not something I'll nail you to the wall for, but would you anticipate this deal running for another fortnight?

        • The willingness is there from our side to keep it going until the end of this month time wise, but it entirely depends on how many customers bite between now and then stock wise, and as much as we're the only ones with the hope of answering your question; it's tricky to predict when customers will order. There have been quiet periods and we assume interest has dried up, and then a fresh influx of orders will roll in out of nowhere.

If you're concerned you'll miss out and you think this deal is perfect, we'd encourage you to buy now. If it's not quite perfect, the better option might be to hold off and see what else presents itself. What's the right path for you… we can't say!

          • @evatech: Yeah, that's entirely fair. Reasonable odds I'll pull the trigger soon-ish. Thanks for the quick response

  • My personal experience with evatech was outstanding. Their service was excellent. I asked many questions many of them silly and they were all answered with patience and professionalism. Their after sales service was also exceptional. If you are on the fence contact the team and discuss with them. It's what got me over the line. It's very obvious the evatech team take pride in their work.

    • Thanks heaps for providing this testimonial for all to see! Appreciate you taking the time to comment.

**NOTE THAT THERE IS NO OS Included !!! ** This is on the Order page but again very easy to miss. I for one assumed the OS as by default all pc purchases so far have always come with an OS.

Significant oversight on our order, now back to Evatech with an extra 90$ fee to get this fixed !!

We have never bought a PC without an OS and turns out the default spec here is without an OS !!! Make sure you select an OS when checking out or you'll be in for a rude surprise when you pickup !!!

@evatech by default you should include an OS ! it's crazy that there was no OS included and now we have to go back and do this because the default option didn't have an OS selected.

    • +1

We understand the frustration! We do our best to highlight clearly that no OS is included by default on both the deal posting above and the product landing page it links to.

When we did include a genuine Windows licence key by default in the deal price and website, everyone complained that they could just buy a $12 dodgy volume licence from an a shady foreign online key market place, so it wasn't a deal…

When we advertised the price without Windows but left Windows included by default on the product page, we got complaints from customers who didn't notice the OS price difference and complained the prices didn't match, or accusations that we were trying to bait and switch customers by advertising a low price and charging a higher one.

So now we do the very same thing as every other PC retailer who posts regularly here on OzBargain and advertise without the OS included, and leave it as a clearly advertised opt-in option.

We'd much prefer if Microsoft allowed the provisioning of PCs to be sold with Windows pre-installed yet unlicensed for customers activate themselves on the back end with what ever key they manage to source elsewhere OR alternatively that shady third party key marketplaces were held to the same legal standards we are when selling Microsoft licence keys for an even playing field, but alas these are the options we're stuck with at the moment and we've tried to select the lesser of the available evils.

Please bring this deal back OP!

[Edit] (sorry, misread the comment the first time and thought you were referring to the one in this post!

We are looking in to bringing back something similar in the not too distant future. It won't be identical, but possibly very close. Stay tuned !
