got the 1TB T7 and for only $40 more you can double the capacity. No-brainer
T7 and T7 shield are not the same. T7 is pretty trash.
In what way is the T7 trash?
Sustained write speeds and it thermally throttles hard. Try and copy 1tb to both, the t7 will take 10x as long.
@saltysalt: Thanks for the info. Not often I copy a TB of data in one sitting. I have the T7 and it worked well for what I do which is offloading pictures from my phone and shuffling files off/on my iPad.
@try2bhelpful: Yes for occasional small amounts of data they are speedy so hopefully good for your needs. It’s when you start moving lots of data that they can be very problematic. I’ve had to wait 4-5 hours for a transfers that started off at 30min and then slows right down as the thermal throttle kicks in. Unfortunately people I work for often seem to buy them without realising.
