Any Advice about Pool Companies near Melbourne to Install Pools

Looking to install a fibreglass pool in our tiny backyard which is located near Melbourne.

The pool maximum size would be 5m x 3.4m that would fit in our backyard. Is there any advice that people know of companies to stay away from or suggest I should go with that has had a great experience with. I have also heard and researched most likely without landscaping somewhere in the ballpark of $70-$100k. This would include excavation, removal of soil, everything that is related to install of pool such as crush rock, cement beam, one layer of coping tiles, heat pump, robot cleaner and cover.

Thinking mineral pool but any advice would be helpful. Extra cost would be craning the pool in, along with upgrades to self cleaning pools, and tiles for decking (landscaping). Getting quotes from various companies so far such as Horizon, Summertime pools and Compass. Would I save a ton of money DIY kits? (excluding landscaping) eg. over 20k?

Cheers

Are you in a typically rocky area or mostly clay? If the excavator hits rock then $$$$$$.

With those dimensions I would just get a swim spa and save yourself a fortune.

    • we are type M for soil in our backyard. Which it is mostly clay which I believe is a good thing.

Or just go to your local aquatic centre.

    • Or convince a friend to get a pool

  • I know this isn't the question you asked but are you sure you want a pool in Melbourne?

I filled mine in a few years ago when renovating as it hardly ever got used, and the kids say they now prefer having a backyard
I also now don't have people and neighbors constantly trying to invite themselves over when it is hot (maybe you want that?)

I know 2 people who have put in new pools and they both say the same thing - it is great for the first year or two, as everyone is excited, then the novelty wears off and several years later it hardly gets used. Ditto other people I know who have pools

If you do put one in make sure you put in heating!

    • Yes, I have thought the same thing is it going to be used in a few years. We have an old trampoline which was great for few years then gets old and sits there like an eye sore. I have also thought of re-sale of the house do people want a small pool on a small block. I know it will definately will get used the next few years but after they 6 -7 years when they turn 18 and have much better things to do will it get used, no clue.
