Looking for a Good Smart Watch under $160

The lower the better. $160 is an absolute max but would prefer around $130 or less.

Been suggested the Huawei Fit 3 which looks good,

I want good step tracking, sleep tracking, heart rate tracking and a good app. It needs to show notifications too please and if possible, who is calling (doesn’t need to be LTE just show and easy decline like my current Fitbit Versa 2 which has lost HR tracking).

Thanks!

Also an iPhone user.

  • What about this used Series 5 Apple Watch 44mm for $99 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/396243722908

    • you could prob get a s6 or s7 for $200

    • Don’t know if I really want an apple as they don’t last very long and require constant charging.

      • I been using a series 5 since it came out no problem at all. When I got a stainless steel series 6 I started using the series 5 only when sleeping, but now I'm using it at the gym too because I don't want to scuff up my series 6. But it works great. Charge it once a day no problem. Actually I just remembered I gave the series 6 to my mum and bought a used stainless steel series 7, and Apple Watches series 7 and above support fast charging. It doesn't take long to charge either way.

If you use an iPhone then Apple Watch really is the one to get. There's a lot of features so it can take a bit of time to learn how to send only certain notifications to the watch and such, but I believe in you, you can figure it out. I've bought two used Apple Watches and they work fine, just make sure it looks in good condition and isn't locked (pay with PayPal for protection).

        • Charging once a day is quite a lot. My dad has a garmin and he only charges it every 13 days, the Redmi Watch 5 Lite is every 14 days and thats $77

It's currently between the Redmi Watch 5 Lite, if I had an android the galaxy fit 3, and the Huawei fit 3, but was wondering if there are any other options. As the redmi is $77, the Huawei Fit 3 is about $130 if imported.

The other smartwatches I've used only send certain notifications, but I don't see what an Apple Watch does that other watches can't… I will have to research that but I don't see what benefit it has over other watches, and the battery can die very quickly, so that one on eBay may be a dud and need a battery replacement and not last all day.

          • @deadboom: are you a bot?

          • @deadboom: You could get two used Apple Watches so you can just swap them once a day and one will always be charged. Or have one dedicated for sleep and one dedicated for wake time.

Step tracking - I can see that might be useful like a pedometer.
Sleep tracking - what for? You can't tell when you're tired and need more sleep?
Heart rate tracking - I can see the use if you're an athlete or really into fitness.

    • What is the exact point of this comment?

      • Finding out why these 'features' are desirable. It's there in my question

        what for?

Perhaps there is a reason I have overlooked.

look out for Samsung Watch deals.

    • Samsung Watches don't work with iPhone

      • oh really! didn't know that

  • Nokia

  • Sounds like you want a fitness tracker, not a smart watch. Some kind of Fitbit would work. Otherwise stretch a bit more and get a used Apple Watch.

  • I've got a Huawei band 8 which has all those functions, got it on special on aliexpress for about $50 I think. 10 days of battery life. The sleep tracking I'd take with a grain of salt, all of the different brands of watches seem to use very different algorithms, and it hasn't been very good at recognizing when I'm awake. The app is fine, but it's my first smart watch so I can't really compare. I'm also on android so can't speak to how it works on iphones. No inbuilt gps which is annoying when I'm tracking a walk, it will use gps if you "start" the walk on your phone, but if I forget the watch will eventually pick up that I'm on a walk, back track to when you started the walk, but not with gps. As far as I can tell the main differences between the huawei band and the fit are the fit has inbuilt gps, a calorie tracking function, possibly a better or extra pulse tracking sensor, and menstrual cycle tracking.
