PDF Editor That Allows Deletion of Text! [SOLVED]

I'm trying to fill out a pdf form, using Preview on a Mac. It works okay, except that when I go back to it later, to alter stuff, it won't let me DELETE bits of text that I've added.

Anyone know of an Editor that actually edits? (Editing isn't just adding words, imo).

I'd like a free one, of course.

Thanks.

Yeah, but Adobe did invent the PDF format.

A lot of browsers can do the basics, and a free tool is an option as well. They are an annoying bloating slow programme that hogs resources, and loves to undo locking of the update process. I'm sure it was AI before AI was invented it's so controlling.

          • @Protractor: Many moons ago I used to use Foxit to edit PDFs, I think I used a pirate version of that too. Must have been decades ago now that I think about it…

    • I see ilovepdf is an online editor. I want a standalone editor that I can use offline.

These features are typically reserved for paid versions of PDF editors. Either sail the high seas or pony up.

        • That's what I thought…

So, do you recommend any particular paid version? One where you don't have to "subscribe" to a site to get it?
