I have an earlier version of this whizz pro. Blades are good and the motor unit is good. Everything else is absolute rubbish the bowl and other plastic parts are made out of the cheapest brittle plastic possible. It may say dishwasher safe but this just makes the parts more brittle. I can see on the reviews within the link on this post that bowl cracking is still an issue with the 16 model. For $600, not worth the hassle

That's a shame. I never believe "dishwasher safe" for anything really.

I was deciding between this or the Magimix 4200XL. I wasn't too keen on the Magimix 3 nested bowls just to use the mini bowl and you need to store / deal with 3 bowls, 3 sets of blades etc - seems too finicky. The Breville has a lid seal so it's max liquid level is higher. Some complaints around the internet about Magimix plastic cracking too. Breville is a bit bigger capacity, same motor tech and has a lower price. For all above reasons I chose the Breville over Magimix. Thinking long term
      - Magimix does guarantee spare parts availability, maybe something that Breville can't gaurantee.

    • I've never had an issue with mine, after 3 years of use. But I admit I've never put any pieces in the dishwasher.

Generally, with anything plastic, and even if it's described as "dishwasher safe", I'll only ever put it on the top drawer, on a mild setting (ie, won't get too hot). But you're right — for this price, and given it's advertised as dishwasher safe, you shouldn't be having that issue!

If you bulk meal-prep, and do a lot of chopping, this thing is great (so much quicker at slicing potatoes for example, especially if you want to make chips etc to put in the air fryer). But otherwise the use case is limited :-)

I've been using mine (BFP800, 2000w) regularly for the past 10 years, mainly to grate cheese, churn nut butter, and make smoothies.

    Bowl has been replaced twice.

Curious how the wattage for current model is now less than half than before. Maybe design advancements over the years could justify a weaker motor.

  • Same experience as others have reported, machine is great at what it does. The bowl is crap, expect this to need replacing every couple of years as it cracks with normal usage.
