Baby Mystery Snails $4 Each + $11.00 Postage ($0 SYD C&C) @ Sydney Aquascapes

This listing is for one baby Mystery Snail at about 0.5-1cm in diameter. We just had a new batch in and they are available for this price until stocks last!

Mystery snails are a lovely gold snails. They can grow up to 4cm. They will eat algae, dead plant matter and leftover food your shrimp or fish missed helping keep the aquarium clean. Unless your tank is massive however, you will likely have to feed them extra food. They may not get all their food just from the leftovers in the tank.
Recommended temperature range is between 20C to 26C. You usually do not need a heater for indoor tanks unless your house gets below 20C at any time, in which case I would recommend one.

Unlike Rams Horns and Trumpets, Mystery snails are a bit more of a pet than just a cleanup crew. They will do the same job as the cleanup crew, but also usually need a bit of extra food for them, especially when they get big. An Algae wafer once a week or some cucumber/zuquini occasionally is a great choice in addition to your regular fish food.

  • "They will eat algae…"

Can I put them in my pool instead of buying expensive pool chemicals? I'm picturing about 50 of them crawling around the sides munching away.

    • I am using red ram snails to clean my fish tank, it works great, it eats all the algae and now they don't bloom anymore

Some of it yes, but not everything. It depends on what type of algae, the water conditions and more.

Not mail consigned as cargo ?

  • Eww…snails leave slimy trails of mucus wherever they travel (it's no wonder it's illegal to send snails in the post!)

These are aquatic snails, they don't leave any slime :)
