  • does anyone know if the one from 3rd party seller is original Rayban ?

    • +4

Overseas stock, 3rd party seller, no feedback, don't risk it to save $3.

      • not about $3. really liked the style…

        • But it's still available from Catch for $99? Just got to select the seller.

          • @hamza23: i don't see that particular one..

            • @XedeX: Which one were you looking at? It must not be one listed in this deal.

              • @hamza23: Ray-Ban Hexagonal RB3548N Sunglasses - Gold/Green
this one.. its only available through 3rd party… not catch.

                • @XedeX: Yes it's sold by Catch, you just had to select Catch as the seller from 'More buying items'. That one is what the message in the deal post was about. It was sold by Catch for $99, but now catch has reduced it to $95 (see below) so it should be selected by default.

                  Ray-Ban Hexagonal RB3548N Sunglasses - Gold/Green
                  Don't pay $223

                  Sold and delivered by Catch
                  Limit per customer: 5

Edit: Third party seller is down to $93 now, so you will need to manually select Catch as the seller again.

    • Bought one long time ago, quality is bad, not recommend to buy!

  • Ray-Ban Hexagonal RB3548N Sunglasses - Gold/Green now down to $95, from $99. I assume to undercut that 3rd party overseas seller listing with no feedback for $96.

    • wow… how did i miss that.. thanks.

    :( Non polarized lenses

    • Actually the boyfriend ones are. Bought some last sale, can confirm!

Edit: just noticed the colour and option. I got my partner different ones which WERE polarised.

    • I can't live with non-polarized these days.

I can recommend TheSunglassFix lenses if you want to upgrade a pair (couldn't get replacement RayBan polarised lenses for my prescription frames after TransPRK, but they sorted me out for $80).

      I went with:
      - Lens Type: SFx Diamond BIO
      - Lens Colour: Polarised Diamond Photochromatic Black

and have been very happy with them

    • $5 mass produced sunglasses
    • Add Ray-Ban logo by Luxottica
    • Now $99 sunglasses
    • My aviators have been used regularly for 7 years now and are holding up well. I've never got that staying power out of servo sunglasses.

      • +4

I bet you're treating your aviators with greater care because they cost more.

        • +2

So cool when people who've never met me start telling me about my life. Those glasses have been in pools, the ocean, the Papua New Guinean jungle, music festivals, beer gardens. The screws are still tight, there's no corrosion, no significant scratches on the lenses. They're going well.

    not polarised

Just bought two pairs of Nomad for $100 delivered. Scroll down and you'll see the six different styles, Original are close to Wayfarers.

Super comfy, light weight, polarised, Brisbane based company etc

    • +1

Where do you see the 2 for $100 delivered deal? I see a deal for 3 for the price of 2.

      • +1

LOVEFREE code, it has expired I believe. Sign up to the newsletter, they send out codes every couple of months.

    • How did you get two for $100?

  • +2

Need the one with AI, and pay it off my useless $200/yr optical extras from medibank
    /wish

  • +2

Beware of Raybans. The last couple of cheap RayBan aviators I got have started delaminating, gradually chipping off at the edges and then spreading inwards. Won't be getting Raybans anymore, certainty not the ones with plastic lens

    • +1

same experience. the polarisation is also a coating on the glass and will deteriorate over time or if using alcohol wipes.

    • -2

Given the history of fakes and Raybans, given this is a 3rd party seller and imported stock I would assume they are fakes. Not worth the risk in any case.

      • These are sold by Catch.

  • Looks like the wayfarer is back up to full price

    • Yeah, I can't get the 3025's now either (gunmetal anyway)

  • if anyone's looking for quality polarised lenses, shop at cancer council. they're a solid step up from servo sunnies and you won't waste your money on named brand sunnies which all come from the same factory in china.

    • +1

NO, CC ones are absolutely shit now. I went through 3 this summer alone.
      Very flimsy and breaks easily

      • do you have any recommendation because i am yet to find quality sunnies

    • +1

      Didn't CC sell shoddy sunscreen?

      • yep - back in 2022

"Two batches of the Cancer Council’s Sensitive Sunscreen SPF50+ products – the 110ml tube and 200ml pump pack – were officially recalled for containing Benzene."

        • I was thinking of the scandal when they sold sunscreen that didn't work and a bunch of people got burned badly. I think they were rebranding banana boat products

  • +1

HODL!!! Catch will crumble soon give it a bit longer, otherwise see you guys at the manheim/grays/pickles pallet auctions!

  • -1

People pay 100 bucks for sunglasses? We need bigger housing crises to solve this expensive sunglasses problem, higher rent & job losses could help too.

    • At least we can see what we can't afford with the Sunnies

  • +1

Just price matched at Just Sunnies - https://www.justsunnies.com.au/page/price-match

  • Quick tip: Catch will now refund you for change of mind.
You used to get store credit but all store credit will be paid out when they close down in April so instead you just get a refund.

  • I bought 5 pairs for $20 in Thailand. Now that's an Ozbargain!

    • Kind of pointless though, the chances of those lenses offering any UV protection are slim

  • I have ray bans for years and I recently bought $10 Kmart ones. They're as good ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ can't see myself going back to spending for ray bans anymore

    • I had a Kmart pair for 2 months before the lenses went to shit (polarising layer just came apart).

      • Ooo. Not 2 months yet. Lets see how it holds up. My ray bans from like 10 years ago is still doing fine

  • +1

They are stocking Otis Sunglasses reduces as well. They have mineral glass lenses and are acetate frames, quite a big discount.

    • quality as good as ray ban?

      • Rayban isn't great quality.

Generally you pay extra for acetate frames and the lenses are polycarbonate

  • Anyone know if they do prescription?

  • Still going, didn't end at 12pm as advertised. One new sort available: RB3026

  • For those who were keen but missed out on this deal, I thought I should mention these Carrera sunglasses I bought recently, I got mine from Amazon for about $110 on a special but this shop has them for $112 right now and free delivery and 30 Day Returns: https://1001optometry.com.au/products/carrera-carduc-003-s-o…

Amazon also have them for slightly more ($118): https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09YYTT88X?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_f…

They arrived (from Amazon) with a nice case and a cleaning cloth.

I thought about RayBan Aviators, because they suit my face and I like them, but I have found that they are also quite fragile compared to others (like the Carrera's).

Anyway, hope this helps someone out 👍
