What Is The Cheapest Round Trip Flight from SYD to Anywhere in The World outside of Australia?

Got bored talking with some friends about travelling and we started using the google flights search looking for the cheapest flight from SYD to anywhere outside Australia so far best ones we could find was Thailand and Vietnam and Philippines for about $500 AUD round trip (not one way)

I know you can get a flight to Melbourne for like $125 i think round trip but I am curious what is the cheapest SYD flight to anywhere outside the country.

So what is the cheapeast round trips anyone has seen or find regularly also when is the best time to travel pricewise?

      $319 not too bad i think that is the cheapest outside of Australia nice thanks any other places that might be this cheaper

        Fares are generally proportional to distance travelled; I can't think of anywhere closer than NZ, maybe Noumea?

    Where do you find return flights to Thailand for $500 from Sydney? I must have missed them.

    On topic, cheapest I can think of are flights to New Zealand & Fiji; otherwise, anything from Chinese airlines are dirt-cheap.

        Scoot, Air Asia - cheap as. Was looking just last night to Bangkok, 2 one way fares were < $500. (Long transfers and shocking depart / arrive times.)

        Cool thanks. Cheap indeed, if you can fly with just the (pretty generous actually) 10KG cabin allowance.

        I've flown SYD-SIN on Scoot and it was a pleasant enough experience. It was necessary though to order food on-board as dinner time occurs during flight (unless you can hold your hunger until you clear customs on arrival).

    The shortest distance air flight out of an Australian airport to another country is Horn Island to Daru. About 208 km. But it costs a fortune. It'd be cheaper to rent a light aircraft, fly very low, and bring back a cargo of drugs.
