Samsung Galaxy S25/+/Ultra Enhanced Notifications

Samsung appear to have moved/removed the ability to turn off 'Enhanced Notifications' in the Notifications menu.

This option was necessary since Android 15 to allow 'sensitive content' to be sent to your smart watch such as 2FA codes.

Samsung have been made aware of the issue but are yet to respond. Some work arounds have been suggested, but they seem to only work temporarily.

This may not be an issue for some, but I use 2FA many times a day & it is a PITA.

If anyone has a solution, please advise.

Must have been removed by the same team that removed the 'no neèd to click ok' setting after entering a 4 digit pin.

Auth is now available on Android, iOS, Linux, Mac and Windows.

I use the Windows desktop app, don't need my phone.

S25 is a buggy mess. The camera cutout settings no longer work properly to make an app full screen, and I get a white bar where the camera hole is. Hope they fix it soon as it's driving me nuts.

  • I'm using S25 Ultra with galaxy watch6, what 2FA codes are you referring to? I am still getting SMS on my watch with the code. e.g. log into KFC requests the 2FA SMS code.

    • I don't know about KFC, but I just tried it with GYG & the code was hidden from my Garmin watch.

I have seen people complaining about their Galaxy watch, but they were older models. I wonder if Samsung has allowed this on newer Galaxy watches to convince people to upgrade or buy a Galaxy??? That would be pretty shit if true.

      • Just installed GYG and signed in, the 2FA came through fine on my watch like any other SMS.

        • Upon further investigation, the change to Android 15 requires Apps that set up a COMPANION_DEVICE WATCH must now set RECEIVE_SENSITIVE_NOTIFICATIONS to 'allow'. The override for this is to turn off 'Enhanced Notifications' which Samsung has removed.

My guess is that Samsung deliberately removed the function without telling anyone BUT updated the Samsung Health App to allow RECEIVE_SENSITIVE_NOTIFICATIONS thereby Galxy watches would work.

Until Garmin & other makers update their Apps, the only way to update it is via ADB. I have tried wirelessly via the ADB Shell App, but do not have the required permissions. I will try it via the PC when I get a chance. Unfortunately this would only be a temporary measure anyway.

WHY did Samsung have to make this change???

      • Could be something Garmin are doing? Not sure how

  • Rather than pumping out a quadrillion phone models ,perhaps Scamsung could reduce the range and get a few running properly?

Sounds like the S25 is more lemon than apple.
