I didn't see anything on your website about compressor vs desiccant dehumidifiers, which is important depending on where you live. I'm in Victoria and recently bought an Ionmax Vienne 630 dessicant dehumidifier which has been absolutely fantastic — it pulls at least a litre of water every day, depending on where we locate it in the house. It has a 4 year warranty, too. Lots of links on your website, but nothing that makes me think I made a bad choice.

Desiccant dehumidifiers run a lot hotter than compressor ones and are more efficient in colder environments. OK if you are in a cold climate, not so much when it's warm. visa-versa for the compressor units. I have three compressor units throughout the house but if it's too hot already then I'll put the AC on instead.

Thank you for your feedback. NWT specialise in the manufacture of compressor units exclusively and have been doing so for the past 30+ years for globally renowned brands. Whilst you raise a valid point about compressor vs desiccant, this topic is well covered across multiple sources. Perhaps we can share a blog post about this in coming months; watch this space!

    • Hard to find info on your warranty process on your website? How long? Do you pay for return shipping etc.?

      • +2

Hi @ptransfer1 thank you for your message. We offer 2 years warranty and pay for return shipping if the product defect is validated and approved. You may read about our Warranty Policy under our FAQ section.

      • This was my experience, not sure if relevant but it was with the same product. I got an Ausclimate NWT unit about 15 years or so ago and after about 10 years the buttons on the control panel started acting weird. I tried to get a new panel PCB from Ausclimate but due to the age they didn't have the parts anymore. So I got onto NWT in China and they ended up sending me the pcb for free even though I offered to pay for it. Can't complain about that type of service, hopefully the Aussie branch will be just as good.

    • Not on this site you can't, this isn't a free platform to promote your product. Deals & deals only.

      • @Ham Dragon thanks for your interest. This is a genuine deal for 20% off our range of dehumidifiers.

  • Do they have a drainage hose?

    • Hi @raphael2012, yes all dehumidifiers have a drainage hose included.

  • I have an AusClimate 25L dehumidifier that is also branded on the front as NWT (New WideTech). It has been great and gets a good workout 2 or 3 times a week for drying laundry. I can't fault it apart from the noise which although not terrible - you couldn't sleep in the same room. I am interested in whether by using the wifi google home capability on these, I could control the humidity with more granularity (and accuracy) by using an external hygrometer.

@Ruckmauler We're glad to hear that you are getting good results from your unit. With regards to wifi capability; yes you would be able to set the humidity of the unit remotely via the Tuya app.

      • Can you please confirm whether you guys make the ausclimate units as well? It's a little misleading if you don't and you don't clarify that in your response clearly!

        • Hi @ptransfer1, I've sent you a private message. However, for everyone following this thread I can confirm that NWT is also known as New WideTech. We've chosen to abbreviate the brand as just NWT Australia for ease of communication.
