Cheapest way to get iCloud on already existing AU Apple account

I have an Apple account which I have had for years, with movies and TV shows, music, and apps purchased on it, so I am not looking to open a new one from a different country.

I have been using Apple Notes more and more due to the new features and its simplicity, and I would like to simplify using other notes apps I have and move to Apple Notes. But my basic iCloud storage is now full, and I like having it sync with other Apple devices. What would be some tips and tricks to get apple iCloud storage cheaper - if any?

I have tried other notes apps, like Keep (from Google), but it doesn't let you add folders to organize the notes, or images as you put in the text. I have tried Notion, but it is way too complex for my taste. Also tried GoodNote which is perfect for hand writing / note taking but not for typing a notes on a phone. I am also open to hear what people use for notes taking.

TIA

How much is notes taking up?

Good point, I didn't check this up as I thought nothing else was synching with iCloud, upon checking some photos and videos have uploaded to the iCloud filling up the space. I'll clear them up and Apple Notes syncing should resume.

Isn't there a really cheap $1.50/month plan for an extra 50GB? Should be sufficient for your needs

The free is 5GB, cheapest outright/paid is 50GB for $1.49 per month. Even cheaper is to find a friend or family member who pays the $1.49 and join their "family" you will then be able to tap in to/share their storage plan.

Notes won't be using any storage space, it will all be messages/backups/photos etc. You can most likely easily trim a few GB here.

    • [Notes won't be using any storage space] - This is a very good point.

I am getting an error indicating that notes can't sync between devices because the iCloud storage is full. Upon checking some photos and videos have gone to the iCloud (this is unwanted as I have google drive for photos separately) , hence it is now full. I will be clearing photos and back ups from iCloud and hopefully that should resolve the syncing issue.

I don't know if you can get Apple gift cards on discount these days but that should give a bit more saving if you consider subscribing to their iCloud plans. Not sure if it's worth the hassle though.

iCloud plans prices are rather similar across the globe, CMIIW, so no point subscribing to one from different countries, plus you need to have payment method exclusive to that country or buy Apple gift cards from that country anyway.
