Hungry Jacks App Redemption Conspiracy Theories

I'm interested to know what everyones theories are of why HJ's app redemption has been down for months. Initially I assumed it was purely an app error/issue and would be fixed pretty quick in an update but its dragged on so long it makes me think something else is at play. Considering every other chain restaurant has app redemption for their menu and deals it's strange HJ's hasn't fixed it/brought it back.

Not being able to do app redemption for their deals has definitely killed business from me not going their as I can't be (profanity) lining up for a staff member having to scan a barcode to redeem.

    What redemptions are you referring to?
    I just opened the app to look and it shows I can redeem a $3.50 breakfast wrap or a bacon deluxe and medium coke amongst other things in the app. Or does it fail after trying to redeem?

      referring to the shake and win part of their app where they offer daily deals - for months it wont let you claim the deal through the app- it will only let me claim it directly at the counter by showing a barcode it provides - the redeem in app section has been greyed out for months.

        I just had a look and it allows me to add it to my cart, but the prize changed to something else and when I went to do a dummy checkout it said something went wrong the prize has already been redeemed.

    You seem very passionate about this - have you tried contacting Hungry Jacks about it?

    They might be able to give you that actual answer rather than any conspiracy theories. If direct contact is undesirable, which appears to be the case, then perhaps send an email.

    They are quite responsive - my wife has contacted them a few times about app issues and they've resolved them almost immediately for her.

    the app shits me - nothing more shit than doing an order, adding on the 20% promo that semi regularly pops up , and then gives error and clears the basket.
    must be the universe's way to gently tell me to get off the 2 x double whoppers with cheese, large chips, large shake and nugget meals.

      yeah i tried the 20% hack recently and couldnt get it to work this time around. im just trying to help them clear some stock from the backroom

    I've had a couple of times ordering through the app and paying via paypal where the order is comfirmed and money taken via paypal but there is no order number, nothing in the order and the restaurant doesn't see an order.
    HJs complaint team are useless and you nly get back the generic 'we're sorry blah blah' with no mention of a refund.
    Lucky paypal has your back, refund was issued 30min after a 'not available in store' request was made.

      That's really bizarre, quite a large chain in australia to have a shit complaint team. I've had to complain a couple times for stuff missing but usually it goes direct to stores so havent dealt with app complaint team as of yet

    It's all going downhill. Maccas have now restricted their app to only allow one free item per meal. So you can't save up the points now and claim them all at once for a free feed.

    Probs because they suck at refunds and Maccas has a much better app and user experience if you rock up and can't get something from your order they refund you. Hungry Jack's tells you to call them to request a refund even if you go in store. Rubbish.

    Not being able to place my order in app annoys me as well.
