        There is an "Add promotional code" box on the booking. It's meant to take 5% off the price, but when i booked it was completely random amounts taking off the price, and didn't apply to all flight options, so not sure how they calculate the 5%.

    Australians are allowed a 30-day visa-free entry until the end of the year.
    No news on whether it will be extended.

        Yeah for sure. Should be able to get to something within a few hours from Beijing.

        Just wondering if they are logistically set up for English speakers or if you'd need a guide with you 24/7. I have some family keen on going who don't speak any Mandarin

          Or if one of your family member is very familiar with auto-translate app(voice translation) and alipay, wechat those kind of stuff, let him lead
          Remember all google service can not be used so download local map app before.

            @natoms: Yeah true. I think for first timers it's probably easiest to get a guide if they're going to be there for a while. It's not just the language but the payment and app ecosystems you need to account for.

            I have to say China is like playing tourism on hard mode. It does make it a LOT more fun though.
