Same experience. I think most Chinese brands are crap like this. If you’re going to pay full price, I reckon just don’t. With this price I guess it’s acceptable.
I've had poor experience with mag mounts in the past. Hit a pot hole and you're trying to catch you phone as it flies from your dashboard. I prefer physical mounts. Quad lock is probably the best although expensive.

Used this simple magnetic holder for years and works fine. The swivel on these could be handy though. Worth a try at this price. Wouldn't go back to a vice grip mount or vent holder. Then again, my phone's light (and cheap).
Lisen brand has been solid in all my testing, they have the better vent mount on some models and the stick dash mount. The magnet strength is exceptional. Takes a lot effort to remove it so you have to slide to the side and never had it fall during bumpy or spirited driving.
Does anyone know of a decent mount that is suitable to hold a heavy iphone using the Magsafe mount. My wife has a 13 pro, and attaches her airpods to it using a string. As Masakari has experienced, I'm confident that any mount will send her phone flying on sharp turns/potholes.
Quadlock mate. The cases are nice and rugged albeit a bit boring looking, but reasonably priced and often on special at Supercheap
The mounts are where they get ya but they are very very good
Have a similar mount with s24 ultra, 3m doesnt seem to be strong enough kept falling. Had to use some alien/ nano tape to get it stuck down especially in the summer heat. Magnet seems strong enough, not come off
I have recently bought these and using with a 6.2" phone. Quality for the price is excellent. Magnet is strong and positive when connecting to phone (also works with my MOFT wallet). Sticky pads also appear to be quite good. Overall very happy.
Thanks, I'm giving it a go for $3 each. I love Magsafe stuff, I bought a couple of flat magsafe mounts from Aliexpress to place around the house and they work great.
I suspect the Quadlock case has stronger magnets too, which is nice.

In terms of the glueing to the dash, anyone know if theres an issue with removing it? Does the glue stain, rips the dash, or leaves heavy residue?
I wouldn't risk it unless you are driving one of those cars with the hard plastic dash. Most recent cars use soft material which will be ruined when you leave those glue like material on them for a long period. I would not recommend it. Find a hard plastic spot on the dash and use it on there.

I've bought one of these for the Mrs's car as there is a nice flat plastic spot near her radio, and it works great.
Not the most ideal spot but it's better than her holding her phone or chucking it in her lap while driving.
Got mine this morning. Very impressed with the quality, seems like legit 3M VHB and came with 4 extra stickers if you need to replace it.
Also came with Magsafe rings for non Magsafe phones.
Magnet strength is very strong with my case - to the point I'd be more worried about pulling the mount off the dash instead of the phone.
