  • @Clear From SB app:

Reward capped at $20.00 per purchase

Heads up that Westpac has a 3% international transaction fee.

Don't bother trying to pay in AUD, AliExpress's exchange rate is worse, and Westpac can still hit you with the fee.

    • 7% bonus it is then. It's a shame so many cards are ditching the international transaction fee. I need to find a new one soon.

      • Does it make a difference paying with PayPal with the USD payment?
A while ago, I used a NAB card directly with 3.5% international fees, chose AUD payment but can't remember if I was charged a conversion fee again.

        • +1

You'll get a better rate opting to bill in USD over AUD, however you'll still get a separate international transaction fee after.

          • @Clear: Yeah but does Paypal or AliExpress charge more or less than Westpac's 3% fee

        • Does paying via Paypal count for the bonus %?

And $20 per purchase, so I can use this for multiplle orders

      • The Westpac card has never really been great, most of us probably got one for the SB Westpac lounge.

Macquarie is pretty good, their GC shop has some good rates. Some high interest online banks also include fee free cards, if you only need a transaction card a lot of people recommend Up.

        • I'm cancelling my Westpac soon as the $30 annual fee is coming up. Will move to St George instead as they have a $0 fee card and are also partnered with SB.

          • @eciuj: Westpac Choice is free if you deposit 2k every month the waive the $5 monthly fee, you can withdraw it immediately.

Westpac can still hit you with the fee.

Yes, they will slug with a FX surcharge if the payment processor is located overseas.
It doesn't matter if you convert to AUD.

      • try paypal

  • Does this apply with the Aliexpress 'buy 3 to get free shipping' deals?
The items I want pass the affiliate checker when they are individual.

    • +1

Yep that works. I use it regularly.

  • So, is it per transaction Or per account?

    • +1

      Per purchase = per transaction

  • I scored 17% CB with cashrewards purchasing on AliExpress last night. Tracked in 2 minutes.

    • That's still less than this deal 😜 but yes AliExpress tracking is near instant.

  • Bought at 11am.

Standard tracking came after 30 mins.

    Westpac bonus still missing.

    • Update us. Did you use the Aliexpress discount vouchers? Thx.

      • Yep, I always use vouchers, store coupons and coins.

        • So did you make a new user account to get 24.5% or just use the existing customer 14%? I am thinking of making a new Aliexpress Account to get the Viofo Dashcam at $286 with $40 Discount Aliexpress Voucher and $50 Shopback Cashback and $20 Westpac 10% Cashback making it $205 shipped, the lowest it has ever been.

  • Base cashback didnt track at the right rate…urghh
