All Accor Plus - Best Sign up?

New year almost time to travel.

The Accor Plus aussie site is about $400 its been half price in the past.

The flight hacks link is about $80 less

I am tempted to fire up the VPN and register via Vietnam given the local coupons as might come in handy.

Does anyone else have a better country option?

2 free nights or any news of upcoming sale would be nice.

Also has anyone tryied the brazil version, looks like a fair amount of travel is needed to make it worthwhile?

    That's a good little 20% off hack if you can't wait.

    Yes it's cheaper if you use a different country but your membership will be stuck there and it can cause some issues if you try to renew in elsewhere beforehand due to a sale. They also have sales in those countries so there's no point buying full price. Last year they had 4 sales in Australia, 50% off in Feb, 25% off in March, 30% off in September & 40% off in November.

    I joined in Malaysia which was great for a few years but they have just increased the prices so it’s almost the same as the Aussie one and I can’t use any of the extra perks

      I also previously joined via the Malaysia site - although the new signup price increased a lot, when it came to the renewals it was still discounted and didn't increase too much from the previous year. By the renewal time however, I had already setup new 2 x Phillipines accounts for myself and my wife. I think it worked out to be about $180 aud per Philippines account. It was a similar price to renew the 2 free night Malaysia option. I figured it was better to discount more people during meals hence going for the two accounts rather than a Malaysia one with 2 free nights.

    A few friends were anticipating a 50% off on 14th Feb this year, it happened the past 2 years but hasn't seemed to happen this year sadly.

    People are seriously considering this? I have read very poor reviews online e.g. non-existent customer care, issues with booking, lack of eligiblity around special events, e.g. Valentines day, etc.

      Depends how much time you spend in hotels, at $320 it’s not too hard to find somewhere to use the free night that covers the cost of the card. Also the extra 20 status nights is a great boost if you’re aiming for Platinum

    Membership to Accor Plus (along with the free night) is complementary with a platinum Amex, plus all the additional amex benefits may be worthwhile for you to go that route.

    The Brazil product is a points subscription. It basically allows you to buy Accor points at a fairly hefty discount. And another option is Accor Plus China - there are threads on this too (it offers up to 30 status nights - see https://loyaltylobby.com/2024/10/24/all-plus-china-subscript…)

    Has anyone successfully moved their account from one country to another or bypassed the message below? I attempted to sign up for Plus with the Philippines from my existing account, but I keep receiving the message.

    "Our records show that you are registered in Hong Kong. Would you like to switch to Hong Kong? Otherwise, please contact Member Services to complete your transaction."

      I contacted the chatbot and seemed to get put to a person for the region change.

      They would move my account but would not honor the 20% discount spouting some nonsense about 3rd party websites.

      In the end it worked out better for me to renew with a Malay account as I got the 2 free days and it was too hard basket to move to a different country.
      Thanks to everyone that responded.
      No doubt now I have renewed there will be a 50% discount anyday now.
