One for a small apartment, wooden floors and bedroom carpets. Want something easy to move around, actually it has to be not heavy at all. I considered a cordless like dyson dc35 but still cant decide if i want a weak vacuum in place of a performance one. The whole hassle of cleaning filters is also making think twice but again the bag vacuums might not be better in that regard. Budget is around $300
What vacuum cleaner should I get?

Put me down for a vote for the Roomba too.
Just don't get one that sucks.. Oh wait :/
guys, i need something to clean the house not to frighten cats!
If the majority of the living areas is open-plan wooden floors, then I'd recommend getting a robotic vacuum cleaner, & perhaps a smaller handheld vacuum for the bedrooms.
Only the I-Robot brand is the one I recommend; most of the cheaper ones can't do the job properly.
