Where to Buy Safe Stainless Steel Bands for Samsung Watches?

So I've got a Samsung Classic 6 watch. Right now I am using the default band which is the Hybrid Leather one.
Not sure if you guys have heard the news but many of these bands have materials which are dangerous for our health.
I've even had people in public warn me about wearing a smartwatch.
So I've stopped wearing my watch for a few days now. I'm looking to replace the band with a Stainless Steel band as it's does not have the bad chemicals in it. Only thing is that I have heard that cheaper Stainless Steel bands from temu and etc may contain traces of lead in them. I'm looking to buy safe ones. Are the ones on amazon safe?
I've also seen the Ozstraps and Strapify ones which seem good but expensive but I am willing to buy from them if the ones on amazon are not safe either.

Thanks

    Are you feeling better?

Not sure if you guys have heard the news

No I haven't. Do you have a link to a proven and reliable source?

Yep I made a new comment with some sources.

Thanks for the tipoff, I'll have a read. Funny, I bought this 'silicone' strap for my young kid's watch, but hadn't installed it yet because I had sudden vague concern about plasticisers in constant contact with skin. No idea if this is really silicone or actually the fluoroelastomer material that is being mentioned, and the characteristics seem so similiar it might be hard to tell the difference. Ironically I was thinking to use the original Samsung band after all, but now I am wondering if it may have more PFAS than the aliexpress knockoff… Samsung themselves are keeping mum.

        • This article suggests that the cheap bands are almost certain to be silicone because the fluoroelastomer itself is an expensive material.

You sound easily scared of the world around you.

Did you know too much oxygen will kill you too?

    • While the full extent of the potential health risks posed by forever chemicals in these bands remains unclear

I'll wait until they are clear but thanks for the links.

      • All good. Though do you have any Stainless Steel band recommendations?

        • I recommend Uncle straps but I don't think they do smart watches.

      • My mum had the same thoughts about thalidomide. Didn't believe all the cautious cookers. This is my sister now.

    • You could literally eat your watch band and not get sick.

      • Post your demo video.

    • Provide a few more links and you can put together your own band.

The hands on my watch glow in the dark. Does that mean I'm radioactive?

    • Man I literally sent sources and studies.

Some vintage watches used radium for lume. I haven't wasted my time looking at studies to see if it has side effects.

      • alr thx. Well I probably didn't communicate it well but the studies are for plastic, fake leather bands and all that. Not for metals ones.

        My watch isn't vintage.

I was just presenting a fun fact. Most modern watches use Super-LumiNova, which is entirely non-radioactive and non-toxic

That bracelets contain chinesium. Be careful. I'll look for a link to confirm my opinion. Standby.

        Better to get genuine Thaitanium

  • Stainless Steel bands …….may contain traces of lead.

Never heard of stainless steel containing lead. I think that might surprise the metallurgists on OzBargain too

    • ohh okay thx. I thought metal could contain lead if it's from the cheaper ones. Though the studies I sent are for plastic, fake leather bands and all that as some of them contain pfas and fluoroelastomer materials and etc

I thought metal could contain lead if it's from the cheaper ones.

Lead is extremely expensive and is absolutely not added to steels as a cost saving measure, although it is added in minute quantities to some steels for machinability.

Do Samsung sell a Millanese option for your watch? These are stainless, look good and very comfortable.
I believe the lead/stainless steel thing was solder used in some Thermos and water bottles rather than the stainless itself.
Also, thank you for the heads up on these findings. 👍

  • Was hoping to find out more about this Ultra [clone] (https://youtu.be/yB41Y-AzvTA) and if it's worth getting it but I don't understand Hindi.
