with 4K as standard
Not too fussed about that, but I'm not paying more than $15 for 1 screen.
$25 is too expensive and $40 is extortion.
The price rises make me wish I could double cancel, but just once had to do.
The Vodafone tv box has not accepted kayo updates for years.
I used to sideload Kayo Sports APK updates but I cant find any recent ones that work.
Can someone please help out?
I am trying to use the Vodafone TV box for so my uncle so he can watch the footy tonight.
He was previously using the Telstra TV 2 Box which worked very well until they recently software updated the device to be bricked and sent to landfill. That is why I am trying to go back to the Vodafone box until I can find a proper replacement.
What is a good device for him to buy moving forward, he is old and needs something not complicated.
His TCL TV is a few years old and the video (on the app) is so laggy it is unwatchable.
I have a TCL and just use a nvidia shield. Just get the new google tv or a fire tv stick, they will be much snappier…
I pray for you to get a proper tv one day.

Anywhere got Kayo Sports APK 2.4.8 for sideloading?
Kayo app keeps crashing on my LG CX.
What's the best stream box that's not Apple or Google that will do Kayo in 4k?
Use it with Google TV and on desktop / mobile without any issues.
It's a bit expensive for what it is, but I think this is broadly the result of archaic exclusivity deals with the major sports leagues / organisers. Compared with other entertainment streaming services, e.g. Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV…etc., Kayo is overpriced. However, given lots of people paid for Foxtel just to watch sports back in the day, it's just an uncompetitive and lucrative industry.
Good selection of sports that should suit most fans - if you spend a lot of your weekends watching sports. Price increase to $40 / month is a bit of a rort for me, but I've yet to find a viable alternative.
I too use Kayo on GoogleTV with no issues. There IS the odd sync issue, but usually rights itself
I split with 4 other people
How do you split 2 screens with 4 people?
well, one only wants Kayo for Formula 1, one wants it for AFL. We very rarely cross sports
AFL digital membership for $350 is the best alternative to paying monthly.
works well on my old Chromecast 4k & also a TCL tv
So Google TV, Apple TV, Firestick 4k, will all do the job.
I do the AFL membership #GoTiges
The savings are no longer there, but I can live with the thought that my Club is taking a cut.
I can’t stand Kayo. Was using it for F1.
My issues:
Keeps switching from HD to SD on my Nvidia shield. I skip forward 2 hours to the start of an F1 race, then realise it’s in SD. You can’t just change it from the playback screen though. Exit to the main app, settings, change quality, then back to streaming your replay. This now results in the next issue.
Doesn’t remember your playback position. Sometimes I’ll watch the start of a race in the morning, then want to continue at lunch at my desk. I have to take a photo of the lap counter. Not the timestamp, because the stream seems to be different on the web client vs TV.
Yes annoying issue with the Shield and it reverting to SD.
Also on occasions it has a frame rate issue where it looks "blocky" like it is running at 25fps when diagnosis shows 50fps. A restart fixes this but is annoying
Too expensive.
Should be around $15 per month.
