there's something terribly wrong with the transport network if it costs you more to take public transport than to drive your own car…

  could you please explain to me the calculation that owning a car is cheaper now? I am thinking to buy a car.

    It doesn't apply to everyone. I said that on the basis of having already owning a car, but it's more economical to say, take the car for a drive to shopping or work than it is to buy a return ticket for a short trip 3 stations away.
    
    In my example, the daily Car trip that costs $2.50 in fuel would cost $3-4 dollars in train tickets.

      its not about money either
      
      it takes me 15 mins to get to work by car… it would take… no lie, an hour maybe more by train and then the walk to and from stations
      
      my time is valuable
      
      what price can you put on that?
