Vineyards: This Shiraz is a 50/50 blend of two vineyards. The Rayner Heritage Block located on Kangarilla Road just outside McLaren Flat and the Ledgard vineyard on Little Rd, Whites Valley.

Soils: The Rayner Heritage Block is on Alluvial clay from the Christies Beach Formation from the Pleistocene Era (2.6 million years old). The Ledgard Vineyard has half the block on the same soil type as the Heritage Block, the other half is Grey clay from Ngaltina Formation also from the Pleistocene Era.

Winemaking: Parcels were harvested and fermented separately in static stainless steel fermenters for 9 days on skins before pressing directly to oak. This wine was matured for 10 months is a combination of both French and American hogsheads before blending and bottling.

Nose: This Shiraz has a rich chocolate nose with dark plum fruits.

Palate: The palate is a plush balance of dark red fruit flavours and generous soft mocha oak. Supple tannins give length and generosity.

from the Pleistocene Era (2.6 million years old).

    The Gelasian Age ?

I'm no expert but over to you @jv :-)

Could be the Piacenzian Age too…

        2.6 million is the transition…

Might need to drink a Gelas or two to think about it…

How do you check for online orders?

    • -2

@jv I'll let you google it.

      • -2

        So you don't check ?

        • @jv We comply with all State and Federal Government legislation across every aspect of our business.

          • @RD ADL: How do you check when someone places an order that they are 18 or over?

Are you putting the onus on the customer?

            • -2

@jv: Readily available inforaton from the internet. I'll leave you to it. :-)

              • @RD ADL: So you are saying you don't check ?

                (It's OK to admit you don't know…)

              • @RD ADL: Odd response from a business owner

@freeb1e4me: freeb1e4me I'm just not intending to get involved in a pointless off-topic debate about compliance around liquor licencing. The business discharges its responsibilities under all State and Federal legislation. If someone wants to allege non-compliance then report it to Consumer & Business Services within the South Australian Government and we'll take it up with them. A licence holder's responsibility under the Act is outlined and readily available public information. :-)
