      I mean, I am absolutely not the authority on the value of professional paddles made of 7 layers different woods and carbon fibre. It seems around $150 each is the going rate of the pros, so definitely not a valid neg imo.

      I'm just generally interested to learn all of this.

        I have a friend who used to play competitive table tennis. $300 AUD for a Butterfly branded paddle is not unusual

          @jv: An opinion of 'x' item being 'y' price as ridiculous isnt quite enough justification for a neg when you seemingly as it stands dont have enough/any understanding of the sport or brand

          That would be the same as me saying $20k for ANY car is ridiculous and should only be worth $10k…Neg any car deals posted

          Now having said that and because if bought some pricey paddles while playing in the past (and aside from the link being broken)

          for the price i would go for a STIGA or Butterfly paddle instead personally and im sure there is a market for this brand but i never thought about them at this price.

  I have to admit that you can spend a lot more than $300 for one piece of paddle, not a pair and even without the rubber. But I will stick with my $10 pair including 3 balls.
