  • Would never deal with Qantas hotels again.

They were running a promotion about 5,000 points for three bookings each. I made a booking and then I was already in that city at another place. I went to a jazz bar and the hotel I booked was just around the corner so I popped into confirm my reservation (which I have never done before to be honest) and they said that it was cancelled.

Qantas hotels not only did not inform me of the cancellation by email but then also refuse to refund me and I was forced to go through the process with the credit card company, On two different credit cards because I made the bookings on different cards at different hotels.

Whoever Qantas is outsourced is abysmal hotel side of things to, is horrible.

Only by me happening to be in the area did I avoid showing up the next day with my suitcase and no reservation.

The booking system used is Expedia, the largest chain globally. While I've generally had a smooth experience, I recognize that the issue you mentioned can occur. In fact, I encountered a similar problem when booking directly.

  • Not worth it. You will be chasing them for years for a few lousy points.

Always been 3 points per $1, what's the deal?
