Agreed, have made awesome pizza with the Masterpro. This looks the same but with a slightly different lid. $49 is a bargain.
This is good to bake store bought pizza base as it does not heat up enough and evenly.
Because unevenly heated store bought pizza is desirable?
No, because store bought pizza is already baked. You only need to cook the toppings. Proper heat for the fresh dough to bake perfectly is no longer a factor.
Plus, this tends to burn pizza on the part closer to the heating tubes on the lid.
So, this is good for baking store bought pizza, but not fresh pizza?
"Plus, this tends to burn pizza on the part closer to the heating tubes on the lid."
Yes, this machine is designed to cook the crust more than the rest of the pizza. So you need to make sure the pizza is centred well.
Also, the stone is a heat sink, so if using fresh dough, you will need to heat the stone first, not just whack it on and hope for the best.
I have the masterpro and it hasn't had any issues. However, I don't know if this model is the same, albeit looking pretty similar.
@Tiggrrrrr: I have the Master Pro too so I know what it can do. Of course nobody would whack the pizza in without heating. But that’s great you’re happy with it. I’ve moved up onto the Ninja woodfire oven so there’s no comparison.
@itstuan: Thanks. I am happy with it. But I'm not going to compare it to my Ooni as its a different oven and 10 times the price.
Thanks op, for $50 seems like a good bet.
Are these any different (besides the window) to the original electric red pizza ovens from a few years ago?
Great pizza cooker. Excellent price.
how is the pizza cooked in this as compared to air fryer?
An air fryer (depending on design) is comparable to a miniature fan-forced convection oven and relies on air circulation for even heating and cooking of your food (e.g. a jumbled stack of fish and chips).
Pizzas are virtually two-dimensional (in terms of cooking), so you can ignore air circulation as long as you are evenly heating the top and bottom of the pizza.
Pizza ovens like this one are specialized for just cooking pizza, so it will heat the ceramic-stone base to evenly cook your pizza base and use the stainless-steel heating element to grill/cook the top of your pizza.
Great first step to homemade pizza, kept a master pro for 2 years until I jumped to a gas one
