Possible all time low on this unit (exactly the same as the X20 but with black on top instead of white).
Excellent value for a 3-pack with Wi-Fi 6.
Credit/debit card fee applies.

Dlink no thanks
The dlink supports OpenWRT. Much better than TP-Link and their back doors.
I am not sure now but I have so many problem with Dlink before.
@superforever: Yeah because their firmware is shit. That’s why I’m saying to replace it with open source OpenWRT.
@superforever: TP-Link is better for non-technical people. If you want control over your network, you're probably better off with the D-Link.
@besttechadvisor: I don't think anyone is better off with that particular D-Link model for anything, unless they're technical enough and have enough spare time to get it working on OpenWRT. The default firmware on the Eagle Pros genuinely is absolute trash, it's not even stable for basic web browsing.
Does OpenWRT fully support D-Link M32 with mesh and 2.4/5G? Can I have the link to help with flash openwrt to dlink m32?
@hundredplus: These should get you started

Remeber it doesn't have a dedicated backhaul so wifi speed is halfed when being using as a MESH compared to hardwired APs.
Anyone know if this would support VLANs and if you can use the ethernet ports on a satelite unit when using openWRT. This sounds like a great idea and I wish I had known this before I got my x25s.
@Flapjack Fire: Ethernet ports work.
VLANs work fine for Ethernet backhaul.
For MESH backhaul it’s more complicated. I haven’t tried it but. Decided MESH wasn’t worth it:

Had one and tried to get it to work for 3 straight days, spoke with support and was told yeah maybe it just doesn't work for your place. Returned it and got the Deco AC1900 for $150 and it's working perfectly well.
Let me guess, you didn't flash OpenWRT?
Nope. It's not something I would've done for either products.
Let me guess, you didn't flash OpenWRT?
90% people here, don't know how to do it, we are comparing default stock system.
I am very new to mesh wifi. Currently, I have an NBN box, modem router, and a wifi extender. If I get these, do I need a separate modem, or does the NBN box fulfil that role?
You still need the NBN box, you can replace your router with the messh router (assume you are not using FTTN , phone copper line) or setup mesh router as WiFi access point only.
I bought this a week ago, you can plug the NBN box directly into the mesh unit. Each unit has 2 x ethernet.
For the 2nd and 3rd unit, did you plug them into the nbn box too? Or piggy back off the 1st unit?
Only the 1st one need ethernet to the NBN box, others by WiFi if you don't have ethernet there.
Add them one by one near the first one and take it anywhere with WiFi connection from the first one.
Mesh is meant to form their own network (back haul) using different wireless band. You can also connect them together physically if there is cabling support which is always better and more reliable if you live in a noisy wireless environment ✌️
@kaleidoscope: There’s no requirement for MESH to have its own band. It’s obviously better, but not a requirement.
nice to know the extenders have ethernet ports too.
It depends on what NBN connection you have. I have NBN fibre to the premises and connect the ethernet cable from the NBN box straight into one of 1 of the deco mesh unit. The other mesh units then "piggy back" off the main deco unit to extend the mesh wifi network. They work a treat for my double-storey home.
You always need a modem to convert the analogue signal to digital and vice versa (to modulate and demodulate the signal). Sometimes NBN supplies the modem - such as is the case for HFC connections with their black NTD's - and you only need to supply a router (such as the one in this deal). Sometimes you need to supply a modem yourself. If so, you can get an all-in-one modem-router, or you can get a modem and put it in front of your router.
If you tell me your NBN connection type then I can tell you what your options are. You can check your address here.
Hope you don’t mind me piggybacking on this.
Do you have any advice for an address with NBN Fibre to the curb (FTTC)?
FTTC has an NTD.
$9 delivery Melbourne
$14 delivery Sydney
so I assume even more for elsewhere.
$189 delivered on their eBay store as well if you have any sort of coupon you can use (alternatively wait for cashback). They had it at $169 delivered before but put the price up shortly after.
Also $189 delivered at Woolies Everyday market if you feel like gambling with the regular 30% cashback (myself being a gambler).
I've got a bunch of the M5 already and was looking to add some more M5s. Would these all play nicely together?
Would these all play nicely together?
Not sure, but if one of them doesn't, send it to a corner and make it think about what it's done
Best practice is to not place access points right in the corner
/s
Thanks!
Ordered now after looking on the weekend for a few M5s
If it turns out they don't play nice I'll take Mr Frodos advice.
You will lose access to free HomeCare and be forced onto paid subscription of HomeShield if you connect these or any newer models.
They also don't have dedicated 2.4GHz antennas for smart devices.
The specs say 2.4GHz and 5GHz compatible, but you said there's no dedicated 2.4GHz antennas, can explain what the functional impact of that would be, in use?
(I did a search online but couldn't find out much myself). Cheers.
There'a a single pair of antennas that share both frequencies. In reviews the 2.4GHz performance is worse in the newer models, which focus on 5GHz range and speed.
My Mum has an issue with her 'wifi extender', wants me to come over have a look. If the thing is no good are these a good option I should be getting her to consider buying?
100%
Definitely. Mesh wifi is much simpler and more effective than a wifi extender.
may be your mum is missing you and wants to see you.
Haha probably doesn't even have a wifi extender
if I place one of these units in a weak wifi spot, will it still work?
Yes it should
If you have one router now and have a weak wifi spot… You would need to place one of these where your router is. One of these between your router and the weak wifi spot. And then one of these in the weak wifi spot.
Good deal. I recall paying about this much for a 2-pack not all that long ago.
While the hardware is seemingly identical, the X20 includes the (free) HomeShield features.
This is a bit confusing then when do a comparison on the TP-Link website, the Network Security section shows X20 as having HomeShield Security.
Then below that under Service Kits section, HomeShield is listed for both.
Having said that, if you use all the Deco as Access Point you don't get access to HomeShield anyway.
They are identical other than name and colour, as confirmed by TP-Link in writing:
https://fccid.io/TE7X20/Letter/26-FCC-Model-Declaration-Lett…
I have X20, 1 plugged into NBN box and 2 in different locations of the house. Works really well.
Easy to setup. Happy to answer questions.
so my nbn box is in garage, so i have to plug the main unit in garage, Can the second and third unit be in middle and last room? or does main unit have to be in the centre?
You can put them wherever you want, as long as the master unit is connected to NBN equipment with an Ethernet cable.
nice.
Yup the 3rd node will connect to the second.
https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BBV29JXX?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_f… Likes better, bought for $149 couple weeks ago still wait NBN to update my 1000 Mpbs fibre
The X25 is superior as it's WiFi 6.
Ok,the one I bought has 1300 Mbps on 5 GHz and 600 Mbps on 2.4 GHz.Looks slighty better for me,don't know what is WIFi6 for me its just wifi the tech is updated to fast
WiFi 5 is over ten years old.
Long story short - 5 not as good/fast as 6, especially through thicker walls/longer distances.
7 will be common/cheaper over this year, and 8 is already in development…
is it possible to use these as mesh APs?
i.e. Own non-wifi router -> meshAP -> meshAP
is it possible to use these as mesh APs?
Yes, it will ask you which mode you want to setup and you can change later.
Is this store genuine though, URL is unsecured for Harris technology
Certificate is good. Your problem lies "elsewhere"…
You don't know Harris tech?
Explanation
Ron Harris: Founded Harris Technology in 1986
Coles Myer Group: Acquired Harris Technology in 1999
Wesfarmers: Acquired Harris Technology and Officeworks in 2007
Anyware Corporation: Acquired Harris Technology in 2015
Shoply: Merged with Harris Technology and Anyware Technologies, and changed its name to Harris Technology Group Limited
you are surely a man with knowledge
I am posting this comment using this exact model purchased from this exact website. So yes.
Thanks guys, haha hadn't heard of them before. I did order and it's setup all ok. Good deal
I jagged an X68 two pack on eBay for ~$140 but the useless seller hasn't shipped yet. Should I cancel and get these?
3 packs cover more area, so depends, don't think you will feel any difference.
can share the link? Im looking at X68. Thanks
Can these do back haul over the ethernet if you have them all wired?
Any combination of wired/wireless.
Looks like a good deal
I had the Eero set up before
Loved the app. I could identify and group devices by MAC address and then easily pause network access.
Can this do the same, and even better block certain domains (Eero can but only via paid subscription)
sounds like a good feature to me. I need a quick way to stop all of my kids devices from accessing internet at once
Why?
You may have to create an account and download the app to set the device up.
I have FTTB, not to premises - an Ethernet cable from the wall goes into Belong Modem/Router. Can I use this?
Anyone can use these, although in your case you would need to keep the modem/router (and turn off it's WiFi) and use the Decos in access point mode.
Would this be suitable for FTTP? And how is it compared to Eero 6?
Yes.
Similar.
I have a set of x20 (and e4) that recently stopped working after the nbn box broke from power outage…
Folks from nbn fixed the box but the deco hasn't worked since. I've been through a few resets and trying using different nodes. It creates the network but cannot establish internet connection. I'm with aussie BB, and they haven't been helpful, and even went as far as saying deco is not compatible.
But the interesting thing is nbn works using gl.inet beryl ax through DHCP. And I currently use that as a proxy, connected to the deco network.
Anyone might know what's going on? Is the deco just busted?
Is the deco just busted?
Look like it is.
Did you try reset them all and use the other one as the first one?
Did you try reset them all and use the other one as the first one?
I turned them all off and tried to use different one as the main unit with each reset, and no luck
In that case not sure, I am with AussieBB and Deco M5, no problem here.
Rookie question. How does this compare to TP-Link HPX510? Better or worse? Thanks in advance.
I have NBN FTTP, plan is 1000/50 with Superloop.
I have the NBN box connected to a TP-Link Archer AX10, which is then plugged into a Deco M9 Plus system (3 units). I'm only getting about 200mbit at the furthest end of the house (which is only about 30m away from the main Deco unit).
Would I be better just plugging the NBN box into the main Deco M9 instead of the AX10?
Yeah sounds about right, if they’re using 5Ghz backhaul max speed will be 867mbps, whereas 2.4Ghz will get 400mbps. This is at full signal strength.
Going from Gigabit speed to Gigabit speed won’t change much, if anything.
It will make no difference (unless you still have the Archer's WiFi on and it's for some reason on the same bands as the Deco.)
Distance isn't as important as objects between nodes.
As usual, wires>wireless.
Yeah, we recently moved from a house that was completely wired with Cat 6 cable, to one without - went from 950mbits everywhere to 200 😭
How do these go these days?
I’ve had some Mesh Netgear Orbis from 6 years that were sweet until about a year ago and fortunately haven’t bought a house yet so I’m restricted to running mesh if I want to get close to gigabit speeds without running cables all over the floor
i mean for greater range it's the 2.4gig network that matters.
in that case, is there any difference between the 2.4g antennae power on this router vs even a basic model?
because the bonus of these is that it give syou wifi6/5g faster but those ranges are limited.
$189 on their eBay store. eBay Plus $25 off voucher offered. Total $164 inc shipping.
I don’t see this code, what code is it? I have eBay plus btw
Couldn't find a $25 voucher code, but mine came up with a 10% off voucher, so brought it down to $170 delivered. Voucher code was YAUPGI2MWRH7C57M

I'm only on a 100/20 plan and single story 4 bedder, so I reckon 2 pack will be more than enough for me. But can't find anything cheaper than this, so 3 pack it is. 1 pack of the X20 on ebay is around $146 (and that's with 30% off, apparently!) Got it from their ebay store and mine came up with a 10% off voucher, so brought it down to $170 delivered. Voucher code was YAUPGI2MWRH7C57M
Anyone used this with older devices ie is the wireless protocol backwards compatible?
I am pretty sure it has WPA2 but so did a recent Vodafone home 5g broadband modem I got, and old iPad and Apple TV couldn't connect. Had to do a hidden unsecured network (before getting rid of it all together)
I just realised my TP link routers and extenders are now using EasyMesh. Now I can add routers from other manufacturers to the mesh.
How is this compared to https://m.catch.com.au/product/d-link-3-pack-eagle-pro-ai-ax…?
