For $746.10 it was already an unpopular deal, what makes it at $892 a deal? Nothing

    • Surely this can't cost anywhere near even 300 in parts. Not getting how this commands more than a high-end 3d printer

Built my own from scratch. It's a combination of cnc/laser. Would be hard to get this for $300 with parts. Laser would be most of the price. Mine is 10w BUT when getting them it says 80w. They have 2 power ratings. Paid around $150 for that. Air assist around 50. Nema motors, controller (example Arduino). Frame. End stops..stop buttons., thinking range of $400 - $500 for something like this. (If it actually is 22w and not a fake wattage and in reality 2.5w output.

        • Couple of months back on Amazon they had the 22w for $800 something along with a 30% voucher making it around $600.

For $700 odd you can also get a 30W Atomstack on eBay

And that price included the ventilation enclosure, which honestly really should be included with any of these devices. They're a straight up safety hazard without one.

      • Agree, i got it out in the shed and also got ventilation connected. Must say not the best but at least exhaust fan out and got the door open when using it. Don't want to leave it unattended. Camera on it too.

      • Not to mention proper safety goggles especially with the increased power output.

        • Def glasses. Turns into a Christmas tree the shed when on. Make sure to get correct wavelength glasses.
Cheapest way use current 3d printer or market place second hand for under $100. Get a laser and up and running for $250 probably won't get 400x415 . Connect and good to go. (Beside enclosure and glasses). Mine is 600x400 but smaller because using as cnc as well and wanted to keep the stability.

This will NOT cut clear acrylic. Need to paint it or other preparations before. Need a co2 laser or other type laser for that.

Wish I had jumped on the limited qty deal at the end of this page.

Creality Laser Engraver Machine 5W Output Power, 40W Higher Accuracy Laser Cutter and Engraving Machine, Compact CNC Laser Engraver for Wood and Metal, Paper, Acrylic,Glass, Leather etc, 17" x 16" $165.90

  • can these be used to engrave names on chrome plated spanners , or are they too shiney ?

    • if you want to engrave, don't use laser.
Use a CNC, if the surface is flat or predictable, like a round bottle.
Or, take the most robust route, etch it. Cut your logo out of vinyl (by hand or with a cheap vinyl cutter), stick it on, and etch into the metal.

    WELCOME10 also works 😎

  • Negging to bring attention to the fact it's cheaper with code HONEY10 as mentioned above by BG.

OzB members usually like to pay the cheapest price possible, not more.
