And the card, as it stands:

AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Mariah May vs. Toni Storm

AEW Continental Championship Match: Kazuchika Okada vs. Buddy Matthews

Kenny Omega & Will Ospreay vs. Kyle Fletcher & Konosuke Takeshita

Brisbane Brawl: Jay White & Cope vs. Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli

I wish Mox and H would figure things out

Witness everything…. other than actual wrestling.

I'll be flying up to go with my brother. Shame about everything happening but I'm still going to enjoy this.

    • What happened?

      • +1

Venue change, ticket & pricing shambles (read Golazo links).

I think we'll see the Hurt Syndicate vs Guns for the titles too.

No disrespect, but this is a major fumble going to Brisbane over Melbourne or Sydney, especially for their first time here. It's not exactly Wembley.

    • Queensland government must have offered the most. Absolutely would've done better in Melbourne or Sydney. Still probably wouldn't fill out a stadium, but somewhere like Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney would've sold out (eventually).

It’s not WWE. AEW are not getting paid for this.

        • +1

TNA & NJPW got paid for their regional events.

          • @Gehirn: Cool + downvote all you like, but they are not paying AEW to do a show in Brisbane. They can’t even sell enough tickets.

They thought they could run a stadium, which is why they went Brisbane because the venue is cheaper. And now they are giving away tickets at a smaller arena.

If QLD were paying them, they would be heavily promoting the show everywhere, just like Perth did for WWE. Where is the proof that they are being paid for it? There is none. Therefore you are making it up.

            • @toastface: Get a grip. I didn't downvote you, nor did I say that AEW was paid.

Reports say Brisbane council helped brokered the deal. Obviously through a cheap venue fee as they overlook it through Stadiums Queensland. As Shunter86 said "Queensland government must have offered the most."

    • Completely agree.

  • If you're local or can cop the flight in, two for one tickets is pretty good. The negative publicity at the moment is about Grand Slam Australia airing in Collision's two hour timeslot in the US, but it sounds like we'll be getting more than that in terms of a pre-show or something.

Not sure if that means they're having the earlier portion of the card on Max exclusively, or they're taping some ROH, or doing a Zero Hour, etc.

  • Wraestling

  • Is Orange Cassidy on the card?

  • What an absolute shitshow. How being held at Suncorp managed to get through multiple layers of approval is beyond me when they couldn't even shift a quarter of the tickets.

Then to kick those ticket-holders in the dick by completely slashing what the show is going to entail is disgusting. There's no way I'd be supporting this shemozzle
