ATL for this planar S12 Pro IEM on amazon. was posted for $142 from Aliexpress (not sure about version or if include tax). tick the 20% coupon before adding to cart.

camels shows it was very briefly $199.20 at the end of last year/beginning of 2025. https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B0BCJWK63H

decription says "2.5mm / 3.5mm / 4.4mm connector" pretty sure it's that because this review bought this one and it says: "am using the 2.5mm balanced connection. Even with the included 3.5mm connection they are capable of LOUD volume without any distortion apparent." doesn't mention 4.4 but if it has the other two it should have the 4.4 right.

Planar! Powah!!

  • How do you pronounce that?

    Shoo ohh errr ??

    • idk tbh I was stuck on the idea of wired IEM's for awhile due to hype and youtube recommendations like 2 years ago. I bought a $20 one to try but comfort was a problem. almost bought the S12 when I saw it at all time low, but ended up cancelling it was just too expensive for "hype". this is the PRO version for only a little bit more at ATL, I have nfi how it's different but Pro right.

but yes I have moved on to TWS only. not serious enough about sound quality tbh I am happy with my QCY C30.

    • Steamdecks love wired headphones. I'm using some 30 dollar ones (orange faceplate?), and the detail in the sound craps on any of the tws ones ive tried (buds2pro i guess were the best).

Musicians. That's why I'm buying them, as on-stage IEMs (gonna test them and see how they go)

My S12 pros with comply tips have ruined my ears for other listening methods. I'll happily use a cable for the insane jump in quality over bluetooth headphones.
That said, I still carry a noise cancelling pair for podcasts. Convenience doesn't outweigh quality for music yet.

I have 5 pairs of TWS and 10 pairs of wired. Wireless for convenience, wired for sound quality and compatibility with DACs. They don’t replace each other, and if you’re asking this question, you’re not their target demographic.

Is this a knock off of Shure?

    • +5

      Shuoer could be.

    • I'm not Shuore

Don't know why they'd knock off inferior products.

7 match 2023, I bought the non pro version for 138$

  • Quite a few reviewer claims that it is poorly constructed.

    • +1

I'd be shocked if that were the case. I took a punt and preordered the original s12 during covid based on the driver diameter and shell expecting to mod it with various dampening materials, but after EQing it out the box it's been totally bulletproof as a daily driver. It has gashes in the shell from being dropped on runs and at the gym and it's been splatted into a cup of water accidentally and survived. I got my dad to buy one as well. There is a greater frailty to a planar driver as compared to a dynamic, but this is among the more robust packages and has a great included cable. Ludicrous sub-bass for IEMs too after you EQ. With that said if one is willing to manually do their EQing buying the least expensive option in a planar series is generally the best buy provided materials remain the same as you can get 99% of the tuning alterations yourself.

  • Got one for about the same price from aliexpress last year. Good price for local stock.

  • Need the next thing up from a 7hz Timeless AE, what do you guys recommend?

    • 8hz Timeless BF

  • Bought it last for $199, still very good.

  • Not exactly flavour of the month anymore but I grabbed one from this deal and first impressions are excellent - engaging, v-shaped signature, nice build and comfy fit. Thanks OP!

  • Bought these to use as live IEMs, and got them yesterday, rehearsed (at home, plugged into my Audient AI) for an hour and was really impressed. (Used the Aliexpress Comply tips I've already got a heap of and was using previously with other IEMs)
