These are USB 2.0 cables, 480Mb/s max transfer speed.
If your phone always gets hot during charing, yes
My phone is like me, always hot 😎
Lower your cholesterol
Send pics or GTFO
If you're charring it, it's definitely getting hot
As opposed to just charging it
Bought, will think about use later! 🤪
Can these be used to connect to a USB-C monitor?
I've tried other ones, and they don't seem to work, only the original USB-C cable that came with the monitor (a Dell monitor).
No - These are USB 2.0 cables, 480Mb/s max transfer speed.
Ah - that's why. Thanks for the quick reply.
Will have to make sure to buy USB-C cable with USB 3 or USB 3.1 speed in future.
USB-C standards are getting pretty confusing, different wattages, different data speeds…
So not great if planning to use these cables to back up phone or ipad,
and not great if hooking up to an external USB-C drive like the Samsung T7.
Yeah, very easy mistake to make!
There's also "3.1 Gen 2" as well which is even faster. So if you want to future proof a little go one of those for your phone and iPad backups.
Then keep this 240W one for charging.
USB 4 is here now too lol
@Preet: I've a box of different cables, and all these USB-C cable look the same. No way to tell whether they are USB2 or USB3, or even Thunderbolt, not that I have any.
That must be a fail in the technology world…..
@pencilman: I've been going through mine lately. Bought a cheap HDD enclosure from Ali for like $4 with a USB-C connector. Plug the cables into the USB3 port on the PC and run CrystalDiskMark (use a known USB3 C-to-A adaptor if I need to). The hard drive I'm using is about 15 years old and the USB2 cables will pull about 35MB/s on Sequential 1MiB, the USB 3 cables get around 55-60MB/s which is expected given the age of the drive… I've even discovered some USB-C cables I have are charge only. Next step is to run them through the USB tester and see the voltage/amps they support to get rid of the crap ones
USB-C was supposed to simplify things but damn it's confusing
Lucky I scrolled through this deal just to see what the difference was with my older lower wattage cables which seem like the same wire gauge already.
Stopped stocking up on cables since I don't have any high power chargers. Definitely would want actual data capable ones too i.e. USB3+ (don't think any of mine are). They really have screwed up the standards.
Any discounts for iphone 14 cables?
I use these cables to charge my laptop. They work great! Just bought more.
Does this work with CarPlay?
Full support Android Auto and Carplay says on the ad

I won't believe it, even my USB 3.2 gen 2 10Gbps cable USB-A to USB-C still have problem with andriod auto, finally I bought a wireless dongle from this guy recommended, all solved.
Are these 5a cables, I'm assuming so
Not mention any where. I would like to know as well
Yes. All 240W labeled cables are 5A from 240W=48V 5A
2m OOS
so both 2 x 2M and 2 x 1M were both $7.19
worth getting the 2 x 1M?
Yeah why not
2x1M cable is $11.99 with the 40% off for me… not $7.17

🤦♂️
There is no checkbox for white
nah that deal is gone, only for 1M now
Fair point, the initial 40% off seems to stack with the additional 40$ coupon which only shows at checkout.
Probably unpopular opinion, but I think these cables are not as good as the 'official' ones like Apple cables or other USB-IF certified cables from Cable Matters… The way I tested them is to insert them into my iPhone. The official and certified ones always give a solid click sound and some oddly satisying feeling, while the others don't.
Whether it matters or not I don't know, but I'd prefer to use high quality cables for expensive stuff like mobile phones which will be passed down to family members for many years to come, and use cheap cables like these ones (I must have like dozens by now thanks to Ozbargain) for stuff I don't care much about, e.g. burner phones…
Showing $11.99 for me at 12.18pm
Hey! 🧚 LISEN!
Lisan al ghaib!
I bought one from a previous deal, and it charges my mobile super fast - much faster than the original and other generic brand cables. Quite happy with it, so I bought another one. Just not sure if the super-fast charging will shorten the battery life?
