    Dang after a Kapara.

  • Bug OOS.

  • Never understood why they consider it illegal to import because they are considered assisted open, but I can buy them locally…

The same as selling fireworks in ACT.

Commonewealth creates laws that control importation. Different States have their own laws about prohibited goods.
Commonwealth enforces what comes across the border. States enforce what happens inside Australia.

In theory every State can have totally different laws, so, if you can buy them that doesn't mean people in other States can. How the retailers import the things from China is a different problem. Most 'banned' goods can be imported with ministerial permission, but it seems unlikely a minister would give permission to import a prohibited style of knife to be sold over the counter in one state. That implies if the knives are imported, Border is not looking at that importer's shipments. So why do ministers allow importation of fireworks for ACT that are sold freely to non-ACT residents? Ask a commonwealth politician!

      • Probably not the best example lol.

Fire works have been banned in the ACT for over 15 years now, sale, use and purchase…

But interestingly vicpol looks like they've updated some of their classifications and I don't see assisted open in the prohibited list anymore. Nor do I see it on the ABF website anymore.

So maybe they've changed their classifications for them.

        • Its a long time since I went to Canberra. I made the assumption based on the amount of fireworks that get let off around here on NYE. I wonder where they now get them?

I have a PM2 with copper Flytanium scales and it’s one of my favourite things ever.

    • Do the copper have a coating? Or do they patina? I was looking at the copper and brass. But have been pretty happy with the flytanium ti scales.

      • No coating. With regular use, it brightens up, otherwise it gets a nice patina. I don’t clean or protect the scales or apply any coating though. But it could definitely be done.

  • i just bought a Kizer Cormorant a few weeks ago, it is so awesome, easily one of the best edc knifes around.

S35VN steel and you can front flip, flipper tab it, spyderco flick it with the cutout or use the button lock mechanism.

its a grown mans fidget toy, lol.

  • Purchased a Chaparral FRN for around $150.00. If you sign up for the newsletter, you will get a 10% off code. I can confirm it stacks with the 20%.
Shame they aren’t selling the Kapara. I miss my Kapara a lot.

Purchased the Spyderco MANIX® 2 with MAGNACUT for $208 also using the 10% off code for first purchase. Great deal.

    • Wow bargain! I don’t see it on their site, must be sold out now. Is it the G10 or FRN model?

      • +1

The model is the C101YL2 Manix 2 Lightweight Salt CPM MagnaCut. It is still available on the Gearsupply site.

        • Oh my bad I read that as maxamet, not magnacut. Even better! The Manix 2 is the most ergonomic and comfortable knife I’ve had. It’s larger than I prefer to carry though.
