  • Can I put my hand in the tandoor with this gloves

    • +1

      They're naan-stoppable

    • Now I want a romali roti

  • Will it stop the heat from the sun if I buy enough to make a full body suit?

  • You know… those would look good on a superhero costume. Or on your friendly neighbourhood vigilante.

These usually work well as long as they stay dry. The moment moisture/water accumulate, the non coated weaves tear/open up and then certain points in the glove exposes you to edge burns.

    • Water is a conductor of heat - the same goes with any cloth - used to use chux on hot trays - add soon as they got wet, you couldn't use them because the water would heat up and burn you

    • Are you saying the gloves become permanently damaged of you wet them and handle something hot? This would explain why mine mysteriously became a lot worse at a certain point. Very interesting if this is the case.

Yes, been thru about 7 sets from the expensive to the cheapos and all have the same fate! The only way to prolong their life a little is to always chuck them back in the oven/hot source when it is cooling down and below 90deg to dry out a little. Think of them like the egg frying pan, buy a cheap one use them for 3 months and chuck them at the first sign of flaking, just like the expensive ones do. 😊

        • I haven't seen any flaking though. Where does this happen? I would have thought it was at the internal layers?

          • +1

@bboz: Sorry it was an analogy, just that they have limited shelf life just like coated non stick pans.

  • $49.99 if non-member. Lol. Ridiculous!

  • Got some as even with double oven mitts i struggle to lift a hot cast iron out of the oven or BBQ if its been heating for hours. Lets see if these work
